Many thanks for the very gracious words. I often say to my son, that in every man there's a tiny part that will love these old hunks of metal, with the difference that very few people actually take the plunge of rebuilding them. And some times, even if you do take that plunge, logistics and problems pertaining to parts, spares, engines, technicians and the like, sour the experience.
I cannot recall the number of times I've decided to simply give up on this-or-the-other project, for one-or-the-other reason. I think I'm lucky (or just too stubborn) to just not quit, this far.
One thing is for certain, though...there's just ONE more build left in me. After that, I'll announce my retirement..."boys played well...boys batted hard...boys bowled good...boys made catches very nice".
This last build is going to be something that will be absolutely beautiful. Something stunning. And something that will be the very pinnacle of performance and looks, Insha Allah.
IF it's to be the Challenger that Safeer Sb and I have been discussing, I'd be very glad indeed. If not, then I have a pillarless '64 Impala waiting in the wings to be rebirthed. Let's see what fate holds in store. Allah khair khairiyat rakhe
Oh yes...your love to the Black has been duly passed on!
