Just got the call from the Longman Rubbers Multan that the door rubber seals that I had ordered for Patina have arrived and I can collect the same whenever I may. And I plan to collect as soon as I could manage some time out of my busy office schedule (Its peak Beverages Season and managing time out of office is hard to imagine).

The Door Rubber Seals on Patina are worn out and are so brittle at places that if touched, they crumble down to the floor. The only good thing about the ones Patina has on her is that they are still in One Big Loop/Ring and are not Broke.

The OEM door rubber seals if ordered online are expensive - could cost you anything between $150 to $450 depending on the quality.

Following pics will give you some kind of idea in what state these seals really are in:

Rejoice my friend...A set of OEM seals has just reached Islamabad and is in Romano's possession... no need to experiment with desi seals. The doors would never close the way they should with desi seals.

There are a few other goodies for you in there..including a Bosch blue coil
and a back view mirror (the correct one this once) the inner scrapers (again, correct ones) etc etc.

It would be interesting to see what colour it is under the tail light. Seems like the rear right fender was replaced at some point with a green one and re-sprayed...and re-sprayed...and -resprayed.....and re-sprayed...

We have already checked the color under the rear tail light haven't we a while ago when I un-installed it to clean the cacked dirt underneath the housing seal?

I dont think the fender was changed though it has been sprayed and re-sprayed and re-sprayed. B/w which green are you pointing to? Its pearl white which is peeping out from under the sprays...may be you are referring to primer, isn't it?

I think the fender was L 518 Java green at some point in its life. The same shade can be seen peeping out on the taillight this side. Could even have come from the factory like this!

I believe its only the right rear fender and light...so possibly a replacem,ent.. If it were primer it would be the same colour on every body panel.

What do you suggest about leaving the sourced NOSE with Arshad this once for being beaten to shape after I pick it up from @shahzebulhaq?

I have made up my mind and I am going with Arshad instead of Babar/Ali Akhtar or anyone else for that matter. It would be lot easier to have both mechanicals and the panel beating done at the same spot than two different spots. Afterwards I can take Patina to Irfan for the paint job I want on fenders/NOSE etc. to match these up with the rest of the panels.

good idea...even though he may want to do it with the clip attached to the body before he panel beats it..but may be easier for him to access some panela un attached in its present state and THEN attch it and do the rest.

if you leave it with him expect nothign to be done for ages and then he'll do a rush job just to get the car out of there. i've completely fallen out with arshad now after he's gone and lost my friends pop window seals (which we have a picture of him holding at the workshop) as well as the number plate light housing for my thing (which was painted the same colour as my car - also have a picture of him holding it).

i'd suggest you speak to romano and try and arrange a setup with babar and mumtaz, they are exceptional mechanics & denters and have doen work to my cars which has left me speechless....

arshad used to be great at one time but now he's just a money hungry "denter" who has let greet overcome his talent,.. which is sad as he had it in him to create great works of art.
