Here is an attempt at a restoration project I am in the middle off. This is a BJ70 wapda auctioned jeep. The engine is its genuine 3b ( loud cranky old guy) it gets me places. I went to Choa Saidan shah to do some offroading prior to the restoration and it was not bad at all.
I am adding a winch and a snorkel and doing some anti rust treatment. The frame is in good condition but the vehicle has been in an accident. not head on but a possible side roll.
Here are some pics of the journey. I will be posting more soon InshAllah.
Sorry About the upside pics...should of straightened them out. This is in no particular order...they are just work which has been done in the past couple of months.
Nice project. Going through a similar project but with an RKR (soft fj70) with original 3f petrol (https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/4x4-clubs-off-roaders-suv/195333-project-land-cruiser-fj70-aka-rkr). Nice modification on fenders but I think it will get clogged by mud if your going for wider tires without flares. From where you've got the winch and snorkel and price? Best of luck for the project.
Thanks Azkhan. Yeah thats why we closed the holes in the fender mod. and looks much better. I saw ur project left a comment. Project looks good. The Snorkle was arranged by the person I bought this from. he sold it to me for 17k ( its used but not damaged) The winch I arranged from Bilal ganj and it was not easy. I had sent a winch to pindi to a friend and I got it for 13k ( original Landcruiser winch) but when I bought mine it cost me 15.5K ( original cruiser winch) They are short but can be found with some fierce hunting. good luck bro.
Ahan sir thats great. You got the winch at a good price. Any other winch available?
Here are some more pics I found of the hand made hood mod ( that sounded like a tongue twister lol). a pic of the snorkel temp fitting.Ustad Waseem doing his metal dance and ustad billu swaying with the spraying.!
azkhan There is a guy in Bilal ganj who has new Waren winches but he is selling them for 35k they are in real good condition with remotes and all. but I can ask around for another cruiser winch. I will let you know if I come across any.
great project nomijee. goodluck with the remaining works
side vents and hood vent look hot to the rig - BOL bro you have got a nice rig Mashallah. Awaiting end product BTW what color have you decided to put on the beast?
@nomi Do check for the lc winch as I am short of budget :).
No issues. I will check for the winch.
Thanks Machine jee...appreciate the kind words. I am gonna paint it Dark Blue. will be posting pics of the paint job soon.
Thanks Taimoor jee. all wishes and prayers are appreciated
Here are some more pics of the work..
Its painted from outside and inside including the engine pit. Currently the chasis and bottom black stuff is being cleaned. Once cleaned its gonna get sprayed with some black paint. Scheduled to move to the Upholstery guy ( Khan Poshish) next week InshAllah. Have to make a bilal ganj run in the middle to pick up a door lock, handle door rubbers etc etc...
Here are some pics of the underneath stuff getting cleaned and then painted...though I wanted to remove everything and paint it but that would mean more time and that is not what I have but for the time being its a fast solution and gets the job done in a fairly passable way.
nice progress. Where did u get the ARB shocks and for how much. Do give feedback on the ride quality after these shocks.
Thanks TaimoorKhan, Fortunately the shocks were installed by the previous owner. This is probably the only thing he installed lool. I have Leaf springs all the way so the ride is naturally a bit bumpy. The car had a huge lift with the leafs...but I had my Kamani guy bring it down a bit cuz the ride was quite bumpy and weird on fast turns. I have not ridden untill it has been lowered. will update the results.
ok fellow jeepers...got some more update.
The underneath black stuff looks much neater. The rims have been painted and lacquered. The Manjhai has started as well. And a shot of Lassi in there.lool
