2 KD blow by problem, should I go for a re haul?

Aslamoalikum everyone! I am getting blow by in my VIGO champ 2.5 so should I go for a rehaul or replace the engine. And If I am going to replace the pistons should I go for forged pistons if I end up getting a bigger turbo?

my friends 2kd vigo manual started reducing oil - around 2 lac driven
he added some oil treatment can;s in it
not reducing oil since then

I change the oil between 2000-2400 kms and it’s been driven around 250,000 kilometres

i doubt if engine has some serious blow-by to attempt an early overhaul

Are you getting any oil traces in air box ?

reason: the oil change interval is quick, even before oil really start to lose the viscosity. i doubt if there is real loss of power or engine oil reduction either

as caution please check from your spare parts market for 2KD engine overhaul kit. The OEM kit is from Thailand & Malaysia.

There is oil around the pipe that comes out of air box and goes to the turbo! It doesn’t reduce that much oil.

would it be possible for you to snap a day time picture of that oil seepage., please

carefully i can say it is egr leak and is manageable conveniently.

the other member correctly identified & suggested the 1st step to proceed. normally PCV valve change is done at every 30~50000 km in every engine.

how do you assess the loss of power? don't believe the mechanic.

Diesel dont have a pcv valve.

Its a venting system.

its a vent for the crankcase - the turbo has negative pressure at this side - which aids in sucking the air/vapour from the crankcase. Otherwise the engine will blow out oil seals.

aka - back pressure wala pipe.

first test should be fuel system control pressure and injector coding - then test the turbocharger pressure output at actual and what the ECU is sensing.

Bad injection timing can cause excess blowby as the piston rings are not fully loading up under pressure.

If the rest of the engine components are still functioning well, you can use a flushing oil concentrate to clean the engine. The concentrate is mixed with some hard baked carbon, and the mixture is run through the engine’s movable parts. The concentrate can remove the engine sludge, reduce smoke and blow by, free piston rings and restore compression.
