Hi,

I have imported 2006 HONDA Civic 1.3i VTEC Executive IMA hybrid from UK and it will be arriving in few days.How much is the worth of this car in pakistan. Can you please help me?

Specifications are

the extra thing that hybrid has is an electrical motor and set of batteries, and a sci-fi system, placed to decide when to switch between electrical and mechanical source... apart from them there is normal petrol engine...as in this case its 1.3 i-vtec....so if 1.3 ,1.6 vtec or 1.8 i-vtec that of civic can be run on local fuel why not this hybrid...the only issue i see is that of batteries..if required to be replaced..but its a very longterm...with limited probability...so i didnt get it...what hybrid has to do with "milawatee fuel"... though it is way ahead of its time as far as Pakistan is concerned and i wonder that do we have trained technicians for hybrids if sumthng goes wrong....lets hope for the best

exactly , what bad fuel has to do with hybrid system.

the thing is hybrid gives good gas mileage when you are crusing, but in Pakistan you are always stuck in Traffic.

use hi-octane only nothing else

Fuel has nothing to do with the electric motor. It will only run the internal combustion engine (of course!), which will in turn charge up the batteries for the electric motor.

You've made a good choice. The only problem, as mani462 said, would be replacing the batteries. And that is a long way from now. My friend's nana has a civic hybrid, and he's happy with it. He feels that it is a little underpowered, but its very economical.

The only thing that worries me is that if you're paying a lot more to get a 2006 hybrid in Pakistan, why not to stick to the local gasoline car a get your extra fuel costs balanced out against your lower purchase money. Yes you'll have less gadgets but atleast you can enjoy a more powerful car with a better resale and less things to go wrong.

Begging your pardon, but I don't mean that things will go wrong. You can run it on regular fuel, get it serviced from Honda and everything but still- Hybrid comes with a complex engine, a mixture of 8 valve iDSI with iVTEC & VCM technology, and it only bundles with a CVT system. It all may sound very advance and rather posh but it only means extreme complexity.
