2014 Toyota Corolla Altis Grande

Drove both latest Civic and Altis.And found Altis to be more sporty and grippy than civic.Civic felt so soft like previous corolla as compared to reborn

^^^ Reborn (specially M/T) is a manly car (in Pakistan). I'm driving 2015 Gli A/T now. Too much comfort in comparison (not in a good way)

Bro I went to Toyota Capital to see which oils they had available. They showed me the red petron which is 20w-50. He told me they use it in all new cars. But the user manual recommends 10w-30.

They also had a blue petron pack which is 10w-30 for Rs. 2450. Do you think blue one would be better

Yar i am no expert but i think this Petron 20w50 is no good at all. You can choose between the following at Toyota G.T Motors:

1. 10w30 Mineral Based Oil (Tin Packing, the one i am using right now) 3717 Rs. (4-Litre Pack) Range: 5000Kms

Toyota genuine motor oil is high performance Mineral Base engine oil designed for Toyota vehicle to provide a high level of performance & protection under low temperature conditions. Especially in the Northern areas of Pakistan.

1. 5w50 Fully Synthetic Oil (It is called "TAGLON", a product of Petron) 3300 Rs. (4-Litre Pack) Range: 5000Kms
   
   Toyota Genuine motor oil is high performance Synthetic engine oil formulated & imported from Japan with good quality base oil which meets the demand of petrol engine especially in lower temperature condition.

Yes my reborn MT is still a treat to drive as compared to new Cars.Found both altis and new civic to be unworthy of upgrade from reborn.Only one left is prius

Please give a short review of the overall comments you have after keeping your altis for about a month now. How does it feel? Brakes and handling etc? Mileage?

congratulations very late though. i was about to book ?ltis 1.6 but when i came to know tgat it has no keyless entry and economy 11 so start thinking about altis 1.8 cvt. and i assume that it should give me better economy then 1.6. what u think and what ur cuurent economy?

C'mon people, are you going top of the line for fuel economy? For heaven's sake, guys, being able to afford and drive a Grande CVT-i, fuel economy should be the least of concerns. I would have been happy even if it did 11 KMPL which I'm sure it will surpass. The 11 KMPL - 13 KMPL locally is a mark for us 1.3/1.6 boys.

I believe that 1.6 variant has its own advantage. But i cannot say anything about its mileage since it has an outdated transmission system when compared to CVT-i.

Right now, the car has done 6536 Kms and i am getting 11.5Km/L (Within city mileage with AC on all of the time)

No offense to the OP but I would advise you to go for civic. Honda has an absolutely amazing drive and technology wise it is always 2 steps ahead of Toyota.
Compare honda's ivtec technology with toyota's dual vvti.
When this new Corolla was launched, it was an eye candy but now it has become so common. All the rent-a-car people have replaced 10th gen with new 11th gen xlis. Go to bao bazar saddar rawalpindi and you will see dozens of xli being converted into grande (appearance wise). So no one bothers either its real grande or xli converted grande, its same corolla, its not in limelight anymore. Also, initially it looked good in pictures but in real, it seems out of proportion. Whereas civic will always retain its reputation and resale value. Also it comes with an immobilizer.

not everyone cares about "status symbol" of being an "Educated" and "insert random pretentious jargon here" and "elite class" person that comes with driving a civic.

some people just like corolla for what it is you know

1. soft suspension
2. the ability to take a lot of punishment on the bumpy road
3. re sale value
4. easy maintenance (more toyota mechanics than honda mechanics in small towns/cities)
5. better fuel economy

did i forget to mention that corolla is the worlds most favourite and most sold sedan?
