No matter how much we protest Altas isnt going to reveal the specs, genuine customers should beware of On mafia and book their respective variant before the market gets tight

those who are determined to go for honda city, no matter what they offer, then why not wait for few more months till they release the price and specs and if one is even not sure then after getting the test drive???
if one has already a car in use, then it can be used for few more months or even a year.
this practice of pre booking in huge numbers and even by the genuine buyers ,will only encourage the wrong practices.

How is resale going to be affected of this 2019 model when the new shape is launched? I want to switch to either the new City or Yaris in the next 4-5 months but should I sell my car and do this sooner so that I can get a good price for my car?
Advice would be appreciated!

have something new sell your car if you want you can buy yaris
if city new shape cannot be launched
But i dont think the price of yours city would be affected due to new shape of city you can also wait for new generation there are many people who wants to buy a budget seden car like yours city

As far as resale is concern, i dont think there might be any difference as my experiance is that ultimately you will lose money when you switch car for model upgrade

Switching car is not a wise decision at present.
Reasons being:
-Price of the new city would be 3-4 lacs more than yours.
-Engine of the newer city is almost the same for manual.
-Current gen is equally aesthetic and fuel economical.
-Yours is almost new Car.
-Suspension of 6th Gen is more or less the same as of 5th gen

Regarding resale, current gen City will maintain its price place. No worries about its depreciation other than Time.
Wait for the new City's pros and cons and quality etc then decide what to do. Until then imo one shouldn't sale his 2019 Honda City.

Bro it's just gonna be a different shape. Inside the hood everything will be same, except for the cvt automatic. But cvt's are trash anyway, nowhere near as durable as the 5 speed auto our current city comes with

lol who told you CVT is trash, i have been using CVT in my 2007 Honda City Steermatic 7 Speed, and trust me its more Reliable and More comfort as compared to 5 speed Auto gears lol.

How many kms is your car driven? Standard automatics and manuals, if you change their fluid regularly, never go out. The same can't be said for cvts. They usually don't display any problems upto 150k, but a lot of people complain that they tend to go out afterwards. But if yours has lasted a long time, perhaps you could share your maintenance schedule so others can benefit too. And yes, don't deny they're more comfortable as there's no jhatka of the gear changing and they're definitely more economical too, but they're reliability is a concern.

New City forecasted is 6th Gen City (Grace) already roaming in Karachi as JDM imports. Shape 80% from the current city we have, for this no benefit to sell 2019 City.

Thank you for your detailed answer. If it holds it's price then I think wait and see is definitely the wise thing to do. My concern was if it depreciates then it would stretch my budget more if I wanted to upgrade in the future.

Got excited for the 1.0L turbo variant lekin Honda Atlas phir uper sey agaya with the 6th gen news. Cvt is pretty good to be honest lekin yes the existing transmission does fine.

You're right, 7th gen would probably be worth it but changing car to a similar one (6th gen) is probably not very wise. Grace is wonderful though, curious to see Honda's stripped down version of it here hahahaha

Resale of 5th gen to go down... actually demand will go down because people are bored with the old shape and lack of features...New city probably get Airbags, traction control, push start etc due to stiff competition... Honda has already insanely priced 5th gen city...they dont have much margin due to Yaris, they must match the variants with 50-100k max differences.

Old gen Cultus sold until 2016..you can see the demand of the later models with respect to Wagon r and new cultus. Its a very similar case.

4th gen Honda City retained its price uptil now. Only the buyer who is gonna buy New Car he was bored with the shape. Used cars buyers will still go happily for 5th gen Honda City which is quite fuel economical. Everyone cannot buy the All New Honda City.

This is due to price hike and lack of options over the time. I am not saying that it won't sell over its invoice price but the margin will surely get lower. I understand your point but recent models like 19,20 and 21 will get the most impact because price difference won't be much with the new model.
