Exactly. When you want to buy a corolla you have to buy the useless sunroof. Else down grade to 1.8 Cruise tronic missing so many goodies.

Sunroof alone should be optional.

1.2 has 89 hp and 1.3 yaris has 98 hp.
1.2 has 110 Nm torque and 1.3 yaris has 125 Nm torque.

But practicality is very low. In the end it's just a piece of glass. Opening it fills the car with dust.

In this class of cars, anything that adds to the price tag should add value equal to its worth. My opinion is to get rid of alloy wheels even if necessary, remove the sunroof, and add smart-entry, cruise control, rear camera, parking sensors, airbags, and traction and stability control.

I like the fact that alloy wheels are optional in Picanto, people who do not want them can get the same car at a lower price.

Aspire should be a fully loaded option for the people love to have additional accessories/features. To have a sunroof is a good option.
for the people who just need basic accessories as you have mentioned, Standard or basic variants are there.

No cruise control, no sun roof, no paddle shifters, no AC vent
Price would be as follows
Ex-Factory Price PKR 3,0 Mil
Total Price (WHT of PKR 50K and Registration) PKR 3.16 Mil

Kyun k sunroof awam sirf show shaw k liye chah rahi. Warna kis ne itni garmi me baher nikalna opar se. Dusty environment we've. Moreover sunroof decreases the heat insulation of the roof.

I would rather have hill assist and electronic parking brake instead of a sunroof.
I'm sure those two combined will cost less than a sunroof.

Offcourse they cost less but they are more prone to warranty claims than sunroof. So company avoid such features. (That's what I think)
