Civic X is faster than both the 8th and 9th gen Civics.

No, it's not, Civic1.8 accelerates 0-100 in about 10.5 seconds, Civic 9 was faster than that. The difference is CVT and rubber band effect making the critical acceleration off the line slower.

Except new pathetic Atlas City that comes with 1.2 L anti-matter reactors. Producing power in amounts that calculating that is beyond the reach of current computers. Development of quantum computers has been accelerated so that they will be able to calculate the hp and torque figures in about 10 years. By that time it will be sold only by Atlas, rest of the world might be using 9th or 10th generation.

1.5 wali to theek hai. Features bhi hain, engine is proven and good. It should sell well if priced max 3.2 million PKR. My only complaint with 1.5 is that it is older generation.

By this logic honda should put 660cc in city to get like 30kmpl. As it would have lower torque in lower rpm meaning low fuel used. Do you even understand the concept of engine load? Why does corolla 1.3 get worse fuel economy than 1.6 and 1.8?

Corolla 1.3 : 67.2 hp/ton
City 1.3 : 85.2 hp/ton
Yaris 1.3 : 86.34 hp/ton
City 1.2 : 80.9 hp/ton

Also, here are the torque/ weight ratio, both peak and at 2000 rpm:
Corolla 1.3 : 96.8 Nm/ton, (couldn't find torque curve)
City 1.3 : 111.3 Nm/ton, 88.3 Nm/ton
Yaris 1.3 : 108.4 Nm/ton, 92 Nm/ton
City 1.2 : 103.6 Nm/ton, 82.6 Nm/ton

City 1.2 will feel 'slightly' slower as compared to yaris. On the other hand, most people will not be able to notice the difference between 1.3 city and 1.2 city in normal everyday driving. The CVT transmission, if tuned correctly, could even make the city 1.3 better in acceleration than the current 1.3 prosmatic, which is just pathetic.

I personally believe most will notice the power and torque difference, but whatever. I hope the 1.2 turns out to be adequate for its buyers and is at least cheaper than 1.3 Yaris. Let's end the debate here because its leading nowhere.

Here is one data point to counter one data point (yours). I have smoked Civic 10 1.8 multiple times in Prius. Never have been able to do so against 9th gen.

Corolla 1.3 was a low beyond reasonable. I agree with what you said. I will say it differently. The slight lack of power will be felt but it will not matter. It will not be enough to matter. There is a high chance of that.

I am just hoping that the lack of power is not significant that rpms will have to be kept above 3000 in traffic at low speeds just to keep the car moving. Otherwise economy will suffer.

I've seen a YouTube video today in which a local youtuber compared all civics from the dolphin shape to the present shape. He was getting 9.8s 0 to 100 in civic X and 10.2s for 9th and 8th gen auto. I think most people drive on D mode which is highly gimped, leading to bad acceleration compared to S mode.

I perfectly understand the concept of engine load. Each engine capacity has its peak fuel efficiency in different rpm band. For example, a 660cc engine has it in the very low rpm range compared to higher displacement engines that is why they have the best start-stop fuel economy. On the other hand, bigger displacement engines thrive on mid to high end rpm range.
So whatever you believe, it doesnt change the fact that 1.2 litre engine will have a better start-stop fuel economy compared to 1.3, atleast with manual transmission
