Altis 1.6 comes with better built quality and is more spacious. Companies cater to different market with different products/options. Those who want features buy Yaris, those who want Built Quality and spacious cabin buy Altis.

I have seen no company (even smartphones e.g.) that create perfect products that offers everything. It they give all the features of Yaris in Altis 1.6 who will buy Yaris. If they give Yaris the built quality of Altis 1.6, who will buy Altis 1.6.

I'm sorry but no. Better build quality? A very close friend recently got his Altis 1.6 manual. Has a faulty handbrake, and even Toyota has been unable to fit it. The car slides when we sit on the boot.

And this is just duplicitous now. You bash Honda for not providing up to date features. Altis has the most outdated gearbox in the market. You can NOT defend that. Altis is currently the most outdated car in the market now that the 5th gen City is gone. I get that the new generation of Corolla will be launching in January/Feb 2022, but please do accept valid criticism. A 120bhp engine getting more than 7 years old transmission that you get in 1000cc cars is just unacceptable.

Lol I just went to the yaris forum thread to see what all the fuss was about. First thing to notice, the only people common in these 2 threads are yaris fanbois, no honda fans even bother going there, unlike what one of these guys were claiming above. So pretty obvious some yaris fans are feeling the heat and have to come here to defend their honor.

Regarding the extreme toyota hilux quality that the yaris apparently has, seen a person with fallen off interior light plastic after just 45k kms. And this zahid guy's defence was, city in india has creaks from the interior light's plastic, how is that even relevant. Other quality issues were also being discussed like the toyota epidemic of screeching belts, doesn't get more annoying and embarrassing than that, trust me, I own a 2010 corolla. Other issues regarding weird noises from AC compressor, another guy claiming to have seen a broken down yaris on kkh, interior plastic gaps, etc. So yeah, yaris is not a land cruiser or a hilux, who would've known that a company can make 2 completely different quality of products.

Do you even have any idea what you are talking about? Yes ford and peugeot, the 2 brands well known for extreme reliability would plan for engine to cut off when there is no oil. Just amazing. Your love toyota as being claimed by another user above lasts a long time without oil too. Is that also poorly designed?

Wake up from your blind hatred dude, I am getting literal second hand embarrassment by how triggered you are. You do realize that those 2 other engines are seized up right and would need as many repairs as the honda, if not more. Weren't you justifying your hatred by blaming honda atlas cheap tactics at first? I don't know atlas made engines for uk hondas, or even pakistani hondas but I am sure you know better.

Yeah, initially people don't take care of their Toyota's and then complain about their Land cruiser's poor reliability and say that 100 series is very hard to maintain which it isn't if taken care of. Honda and Toyota are both on par in terms of reliability, not in case of Civic CKD as Atlas has just screwed up even though I haven't faced any issue in it but other people have.

This set-up is working because Saga is a lighter car, so there is less weight to pull. But giving Saga more gears will give it better fuel economy (which is more important in this segment) and better acceleration too. More gears should keep the car in the optimal torque band better.

Well I cannot deny the fact, that Toyota overall is a better company than Honda. That being said, anyone who claims that Toyota engines are better than Honda is clearly delusional. Talking about engines and engines only, Honda is a far better company. A friend of mine works in the chemical industry, and recently he tested the used oils from two cars, a 2010 civic reborn and an 2011 1.6 altis. Both had c.100,000 km on the odo. Same oils were used in both cars. Both cars were driven hard for 5000 kms. I don't know the exact details but my friend told me that at the end of the oil change interval, both cars had a cumulative FE <7 km/l. The test was done as research so company provided grant.
I don't know the details of the results, but the Altis's used oil had something like twice the amount of metallic particles as compared to the Honda's oil. Maybe this was a one-off case, but it seems pretty believable to me, as both cars were maintained properly and did not have any issues.
