We need to see what the criticism is about. There are some things which have been criminal on part of Honda that can not be defended e.g. no air bags. Similarly keeping the same generation for 11 years is also unique to Honda. Yes Altis 1.6 comes with 4 speed AT which sucks, but it has not been kept the same for 11 years and has the basic safety features (air bags) for sometime.

Every car will miss out on something, but there are some things on which we need to have ZERO tolerance on for example basic safety features like air bags, ethically launching a car & booking only after revealing price and features and so on.

And before anyone accuses me of being a Yaris fanboy, I passed on Yaris last year and waited for City and was looking forward to Aspire 1.5 but after seeing the pathetic attitude of Honda on pre-booking, decided to go for Yaris Ativ X. I am sure City will be a great car and I will miss features like Cruise Control, Retractable Mirrors and Telescopic Steering but I don't believe any of that justifies encouraging such unethical behaviour of pre-booking by Honda.

This is why I recommend going for AX and AX.G instead of ZX. More complexity = more items to maintain and more chance of breakage. Specially the height adjustable suspension set-up is a known item to break in most luxury brands. And increasing hp of small engines with turbos is another thing affecting longevity.

Well E/S class, 5/7 series now have thousands of sensors and the set-up is very complicated. So to keep them at optimal condition is very expensive than Japanese econoboxes.

Absolutely true. Also in the list of unacceptable items should be a company supporting own mafia, and other tactics (such as giving delayed delivery to genuine buyers) that supports bad practices.

I can answer for myself. There was a pathetic claim by someone that because Honda is a better brand (and a few posts later, the best Japanese brand), they deserve to charge more for the outdated old city. Atlas and Honda should not be allowed to get away with this. Kept barebone featureless City for 10+ years, and now this.

Yes but the ZX air suspension is still far more reliable than other brands however i have heard that the AX-G suspension is actually better to drive. Anyways yes the E/S come with tons of sensors but my claim was that regardless of brand people tend to cheapen out on regular checkups then blame the brand which clearly states them as mandatory in the onwers manual. Even in MG groups you can now see people putting regular fuel in HS when the manual and the company have been repeatedly screaming for people to use hi-octane only, these same people will later complain about knocking.

That is a widespread belief in Pakistan unfortunately especially among older people. When I was looking at Sportage, a couple of older relatives advised me to "never buy Korean brands" and get a Toyota/Honda even if that means paying own because "japani gaari japani hoti hai". This is the legacy of having only Big 3 for a long time - but now that Koreans have entered the market, these wrong perceptions will change over time.

People also forget that car maintenance is not just mileage but also time based as well. If it says 25,000 km/ one year hypothetically but the car has been driven 20,000 in two years and people will skip the 25k checkup because gaari to abhi 20 hi challi hai.

Honda is pretty well known throughout the world to make more reliable engines than toyotas. It is only pakistan in which apparently desi class knows more about engines. Toyota cars overall are slightly more reliable than hondas, but honda has always taken the lead in engine durability and performance when compared with an equivalent toyota engine.

R18 is proof. It has always been way more reliable here compared to the competing 1.8 toyota engines.

Any chance of hill assist, parking sensors, sunroof in Aspire. I don't think their will be any new teasers. Rest will be revealed on 12th.

Hill Assit, VSC and Traction control will be there in Aspire. I am almost 90% sure but Sunroof has a very thin chance. most likely it wont be available. Paddle shifters are also something good to have but they will skip. In fact in Teaser you can see no paddle shifters on steering wheel.

Overall now city Aspire is a good package.

Previous generation Corolla (10 Gen) was launched internationally in 2007, came to Pakistan in 2008. Current Corolla Altis 1.6 (11 Gen) was launched internationally in 2013 and came to Pakistan in 2014 i.e. 1 year after global debut and 6 years after previous generation.

Meanwhile Honda City is being replaced 7 years after global debut and 12 years after previous generation. Whats criminal is that even facelifts didn't introduce air bags.

It is because koreans have come in this market before as well. I dont know your age but if you are 30 or above and have a little interest in cars then you should know that korean cars started coming in the 1990s with Hyundai Excel (taxi scheme) and Daewoo Racer.

Both were great cars but a pain in the neck when it came to maintenance. Personally kept hyundai excel for a considerable time period.

Then in the 2000s came hyundai again in the small car category with Santro. Although Santro was a hit and the Santro Executive a great car. But due to mismanagement the local assembly plant was shut and hyundai went packing. Similary Kia came before as well....Kia Classic, Kia Spectra, Kia Sportage......and then also went away.

The japanese 3 stayed in the market regardless of the korean brands coming and going. So if ur adults say trust the japanese brands, its for a reason.
