This seems to be comparing across the range, and Toyota has some cars (Hilux, Tundra, LC, Hiace, 4-runner etc) which give the reliability reputation to Toyota, and Honda doesn't compete there.
Compare econobox with econobox. If there is nothing complex about it (e.g. Turbo in Civic Turbo, or DCT etc.) and regular maintenance is kept up, and not abused offroad, they should all work well for decades, applies to both Toyota or Honda. Comparing corolla on mountainous areas or in KP/Balochistan doesn't apply to most users here. Yes it matters if a customer has that kind of use. But for the remaining maybe 98%, it shouldn't matter. Nowadays most villages have good access and reasonable roads.
