Prices will put off many people and they may go towards Yaris, Saga & Alsvin ... not because they are in any way better ... just more affordable..

Honda has sadly made CITY out of reach for Working Middle Class ... which was the biggest segment that loved City

I was just giving an example since 0-100 was in discussion. Obviously across categories there is no comparison between these cars. Point is that for a daily driver vehicle such as honda city, proton saga, yaris 1.3 etc the fuel economy is much important metric compared to 0-100 timing

XLI/GLI Auto were horrendous..Indus made a blunder putting in such a small engine in such a big body ...

Honda shouldn't have made the same mistake...

Only reason that one can think of is to keep prices in check ... but that too didn't happen ... they are rather overpriced.

(Indian CITY 7th gen base CVT is 12.39 lac (PKR 27.15 lac) - and that is a gen ahead, 1.5 CVT with a lot of additional goodies (better specs than our 1.5 Aspire CVT variant)

Honda is absolutely screwing and ripping off Pakistani customers.

jazz has the same weight , while some have complained that it is underpowered but most of the reviwers are not only happy with the performance but also the fuel economy. Youtube is full of it , we may nitpick if we want.

Agreed but still yeh ziadati ki Hai Honda Pakistan nay.. 6th gen bhi theek hai .. chalta hai ... almost sub manufacturers aik gen peechay hi hain... laikin prices zalmana hain ...

May be that's why the priced it higher than it should have been. Honda thought the 1.2 is more popular. With the price they killed the popularity.

All genuine buyers should try their utmost to upgrade to 1.5 CVT and Honda should at least give buyers the option to do so without any penalty or significantly delayed deliveries.

You can change your booking to any variant or even to CIVC or any other honda car without any penalty but Delivery time will be recalculated from the change of booking.

An increase in 5% weight of the vehicle increases the fuel consumption by 2%.

So by that relation, assuming the mileage of amaze to be 18kmpl, the mileage of city 1.2 could turn out to be 17.3kmpl, not bad at all

I know .. its technically challenging for Honda.. yet if they want they can still mange it within an acceptable time frame ..

I think that the sole reason for giving unrealistic delivery timelines (Mar 2022) is to discourage customers from changing their orders ...

otherwise no one in their right frame of mind would opt for 1.2 CVT instead of 1.5 CVT for just 100K extra... and then where will Honda dump all those 1.2 CVT that are possibly already in production in huge numbers.

While amaze has the exact same engine and cvt transmission (assuming tyre size to be same as well). I have done some calculations above assuming amaze to be 945kg and city1.2 to be 1029kg and it turns out that city will take almost 1 second more to reach 0-100 and deliver 17.3kmpl economy compared to 18 kmpl of amaze wherever possible (in same driving conditions)

I have heard Aspire delivery will starts in September... Even when I was booking my car back in May, Dealership told me that if I go for NON-ASPIRE variant i can get it in August, but for Aspire they gave me time of October..

I think Honda kept their strategy same as of CIVIC X launch. after launch they started delivery with Hardtop variant.... Same is case with CITY.. Manual variants are least booked and even now Nov dec deliveries are available.. but CVT any variant is March

real life mileage was about 150 km on full charge. faced by an owner apparently...

Along with pricing, the delivery time is also a big blunder. Now as a customer, as much as I love honda city, I will still be compelled to think about competition.

For a simple heathy debate all the facts and calculations are good and the people who follow this forum will have understanding and benefit from it.

But we should not forget that Corolla 1.3 GLI auto was one of the slowest and the most underpower and least efficient car in our market.. By all means 1.2L CITY will be faster and more fuel efficient than Corolla 1.3 GLI auto... I have never driven a car slower than 1.3 GLI auto.. and with worst fuel economy in its category.. Still it is one of the most favorite car of our people.

A common man in our community is least bothered about all these facts, and they will still consider 1.2L a better option than 1.5 because of 100K less, + 25K less in WHT... + less REG Charges and annual TOKEN tax... Many people will buy it for the rental business and most of these people get these cars from Bank leasing. so there the overall impact on monthly installment will have more impact w.r.t to interest on loan/borrowed amount.

Yes delivery time is a big concern for many... But at same time their pricing strategy and all the criticism Honda has face must have impact on their future sales, unless Toyota increase the prices of Yaris....

If before booking, I have any idea that City top variant will be 274K expensive than its competition top variant... and it is going to cost 32 PLUS and on road it will cost around 3.4MPKR (3174K+50000 (WHT)+16000 (Freight to ISB)+80000(REG)+32000(TYRE change with Trade in of Euro)+64000 (Insurance)= 3,416,000) I would have never bought it in this price range..
