That's what I thought too until I talked to a Honda dealer. In their words own is own, tax is the buyer's self duty and is understood. From their words it seemed like buyers have no issue with the tax and don't even use it as an excuse to negotiate down the own. Seems like the tax is considered a minor amount to be paid.

While people like us stupidly thought that if 3 lakh own was being charged before, now it would have been 2 lakh in the pocket of investor and 1 lakh tax. But in reality it's still 3 lakh in investors pocket and gov gets 1 lakh as well. Never underestimate the greed of our investors and the willingness of our buyers to fulfill their greed.

Currently amongst the available options city is priced high. And with own it makes even less sense.

What i think here is Atlas is trying to play the old card like in the case of Gli n City before....
Now city room will be more spacious compared to yaris so they are trying to take edge in price on it.
Lets see once the car will be delivered then we will know the actual view point of customer.

The car sold like crazy in India and generally people have very good things to say about it except a few minor quality issues in a few units... although even our Aspire variants is significantly stripped down as compared to Indian base variant...

The car itself is time tested and has proven its mantle... its just the price that boggles the mind..

But, looking at the initial feedback it seems that public has whole heartedly embraced it and are even willing to pay 4-5 lacs on top of factory price to get one...

Having said that, we can only bang our heads against a wall thinking why the hell people don't go for Base Civic, Altis 1.6 etc despite paying almost the same amount of money...

and don't forget most of them the spend a significant amount on top to get Bajjas and other frills to let the people know kay Qibla mohtaram sarak say guzar rahay hain...

Honda has made a big mistake.. they should have priced 1.2 CVT at 30 lac & Aspire at atleast 33.5 lac... it would have sold even then...

It seems Atlas management smokes weed or something...

They have declining sales over years... and once the initial bukhaar settles .. City Sales will take a significant hit provided competition doesn't follow suit and increase prices...

Overall Purchasing power is decreasing and even with all the tax initiatives and attractive financing options... car sales per unit population will go down over years unless Govt actually enforces a price regulatory mechanism & economy takes a good turn and per capita income increases significantly...

At the end of the day. Whatever the price. The most disappointing thing I see in the previous model city is that they badly rust in the wheel well arches and bottom doors panels.

Pathetic and dismal to say the least. I would assume this new model would rust as well in the same way.

Spending so much money on a car which transforms into a rust bucket after 2 years.

Since I've only heard dealers tell the August people, that it will be this month, but no exact dates are communicated as to when the first vehicles will be dispatched

Honda Avenue told that August deliveries will start after 20th.. normally showroom persons keeps some buffer in giving timelines

If i were any of aspire buyers , instead of waiting and possible hike in price in couple of months i would go buy almost ready to deliver elantra.
