Yes definitely. Current city's prices are more appropriate for 7th gen. Even still a bit higher that it should be for 7th gen due to the features we are get and the international prices.
Some things to be considered is that very few countries have car assembly and pakistan is one of them. Which should help the prices. Pakistani cars gets worse features and bad build quality due to the pathetic quality of local auto parts makers, fitters and welders. Also the taxes for local cars are not that high compared to other countries. Also labor is extremely cheap in pak, electricity rates for industries are not that high compared to other countries and land is much cheaper than other countries for industries. Plus pak also has big shipping ports for easier and cheaper imports of parts.
It is understandable that rupee has depreciated a lot. But still, the car prices are too high even when converting the international prices to our currently highly devalued rupee. I mean the base model civic 11th gen which is much better equipped than any local car is selling for 22k dollars in usa brand new. That is literally the price for an outdated aspire or an outdated base model auto corolla here. Plus retail prices are irrelevant in most countries as cars usually get discounted and get sold readily off of dealer lots, which is rarely ever the case in pak.
Only solution for pak is opening up imports and reducing import taxes.
