1.2 L is the worst idea. City only 1.5 bhai. U cannot change cars daily. Power to weight ratio is optimal in 1.5 variant. U know u cannot just drive with soft foot all the time and since you are spending money, don't take out the driving pleasure factor out of equation by opting for 1.2L

Yaris is better value for money and reliability of toyota needs no words. In this segment value matters more than looks to most people and hence yaris is selling better. Its not a segment where some one buys for looks like civic etc.in city 1.5 cvt is the best bet and in lower variants, yaris will give you better value for money.

If you really want city then yes 1.2 manual is reasonable. Yaris 1.3 manual is still more value for money though. But if you really want the city then 1.2 manual or 1.5 CVT if you want auto.

Have you driven the old 1.3 manual cities? If so then how does 1.2 mt compare with that?

That soft foot argument is bad too. I can easily notice a difference in engines on soft foot too. And yeah then there's places where you have to accelerate hard and the difference is even more obvious.

The 1.2 CVT seems to have the opposite tuning. Gets up to about 40 without much problem but is completely gutless after at the high revs.

The funny thing is if 1.2 isn't underpowered, that should mean 1.5 is very overpowered, which it certainly isn't, feels just barely adequate or even slightly underpowered, similar to the old 1.3 manual cities. CVT power loss is no joke. Some owners of 1.5 CVT already reported this which is funny to see, 1.5 owners calling it disappointing while 1.2 owners calling it the best ever. Pretty obvious who's being more objective.

Battery ka kia scene ha? My cousin also got his civic battery changed to Daewoo right away. People kept saying battery is small for city. Is factory battery amperage correct?

I think the problem is more so the tuning than the actual objective performance. For example, Grande feels a lot more responsive than Civic even though the difference in actual acceleration is not that great. I haven't driven the new city but seen a few reviews on YouTube and they all show the car doing 0-100 in 10-10.5 seconds which is IMO pretty good, and a huge improvement from the last gen city 1.5 auto(which I believe does it in 12-13 seconds).
Old gen 1.5 manual was pretty good, this one should be even better(because its lighter).

I don't know why, but Honda always tunes its auto trans towards economy, and not for performance/throttle response.

Because at the end of the day, it is an econobox made for fuel economy like Civic and Corolla. People should rather buy a used Civic turbo and put ethanol kits in it for performance in the same price as City. (I'm in no way defending Honda Altas for putting a 1.2L Jazz engine into a City, I hate it just like a GLi Auto 1.3L).

Civic is without nav and leather so you can add about 150k on top for that. In its class it's now stupid to buy a civic and corolla and Elantra are much more preferable options.

A Hyundai dealer told me nishat is trying to keep Elantra price at break even. So with all those increased costs it seems like they only need 100k extra to break even now. Makes other companies' price increases seem excessive especially as the others were already making hefty profits on the previous prices. Automakers just always need an excuse to raise prices by a huge amount. I really hope this is the straw that breaks the camel's back and car sales finally drop heavily. Cause by the way it's going, soon enough you'd have to be well into the upper middle class to even be able to afford a car.

Got it. What do you think about the launch of new model? Would be able to see some in 2022 or it would be 2023? Corolla is long due from 2014 and can we expect hybrid?
