The problem is the main buyer out there don't care about the generation..they are still buying the older generation even on premium. So for them the GM6/ 6th would suffice as replacement.

previous generation survived that long cause of lack of competition in that segment. People had no other options. The moment Yaris came in despite it's shape it took a big share from city and outperformed it.
Now its up to Kia to launch 1.6 cerato in 31-32 slot to damage 6th gen city's top of the line

Cerato compete Civic and Corolla. Don't expect it to be that lower in pricing. Secondly, Cerato might not even launch locally and if even it comes, expect it be between 3.5 and 4 million range. Cerato and Elantra are exact same vehicles under the skin, don't expect it to be that cheaper than upcoming Elantra which is rumored to be between 3.5 and 4.

Going through comments. Here is my take

1. If atlas launches 6th gen, it will be very well received by buyers in pakistan

2. If atlas launches 7th gen, buyers will be over the moon with pinch of salt due to very increased price.

I think Atlas would work in combo as being done in India

This combo would be most beneficial to Atlas and consumers also

No sense for parallel 5/6 th Gen .5th and 7th in parallel makes more sense .7th is a must trusting the name and brand Honda always brought in line models

for 7th they need a new line to install and for 6th they can use the 5th line simultaneously. Lets wait and see what they are thinking.

for 5th gen - 1.3
and for 6th gen - 1.5.

Agreed, since civic is reaching out of reach now crossing 4 million, plus with the growing SUV segment in this price bracket Honda will suffer huge loss in sales, the 11 gen civic if introduced will even be more higher priced.
Thus city is the only future for Honda, who knows like in India civic might get discontinued.
Even if 7th Gen is more expensive it'll give tough competition to altis 1.6, cerato, elantra, mg etc. They should've brought 7th gen only for Turbo and 1.5 top variant, continuing 5th gen for lower variants side by side.
Yaris outperformed in sales with civic city combined. Seems honda hasn't learned their lesson.

I don’t know why Honda isn’t interested in crossover and suv segment the only thing they have brought closer to them is the ugly brv it would so nice if they could bring crv or even Hrv in the market would be a success if locally manufactured

I believe Honda will be bringing in a C-SUV in 2022. This from a reliable source.
Agree they should have launched 7th generation by JUL'21 followed by Civic XI and SUV by JUL-SEP22.I am not sure if Civic has been discontinued in India which could surely have been due launch of 7th generation.Another option then could be to have CITY 7th generation with 1.5 and 1.2 turbo variants alogwith a sub-compact SUV.

I hope Atlas compensates for introducing an old generation with the same specs and features found in Indonesian Honda who people claim Atlas follows footsteps of.

If honda introduces 6th generation in 1.5 variants and continues the 5th in 1.3 litre configuration, things can get very tricky.1.5 litre variants right now are priced close to 3 million. New generatiin will cross the 3 million mark. People can start thinking about elantra or a used civic/corolla with that kind of money
