No car manual states brake pad life cause it all depends on yourself and your driving style. Life may be as low as 10k Kms or as high as 100k Kms. Brake pads have an easy identifier when they start to get low and need replacement, that they start squealing. Whenever u hear break squeal, then get it replaced, simple as that.
Another good brake pad tip is to not get OEM pads, OEMs don't make brake pads themselves and rebrand akebono or denso or similar good brands. Problem is OEMs after rebranding charge twice the actual price. So just get akebono or denso original pads, you'll save a lot of money and get the same performance. The cheap aftermarket pads from other lower end brands won't save you that much money and their performance is always in question, and they can ruin rotors as well. Usually for city, honda front pads are around 15k, akebonos are around 7k and cheap aftermarket ones are 3 to 5k.
