As much as I'm disappointed if 7th gen doesn't comes I disagree with 6th gen not being an equal competitor to Yaris. Lets see comparison betweem Yaris and 6th gen city
Exterior : City> Yaris
Interior : Yaris> city
Now the game changer will be specs which one will be more value to money. If 6th gen rumour is true then its competition against Yaris depends on features offered as Yaris is alreary established

Well based on this aesthetic comparison between Yaris and 6th gen city, city seems superior in this regard even the interior looks classy. People arent very fond of Yaris's shape and the only reason it crossed sales is because of lack of competition (5th gen with it's 12 year old shape and lack of specs was never in the competition with Yaris in first place). It was either Yaris or a city with no airbags, choice was obvious.

All depends on the specs that Altas offers in 6th gen to give Yaris a tough time. It already struggles in looks which is highly regarded in Pak while buying a car.

Especially if it comes as a 7 seater it would sell quite well although I think 5 seater is more possible as 7 seater is only sold in a few markets plus the cbu sold here is also a 5 seater

It is called basic supply and demand ,there is a reason automakers keeps the production in check (to minimum)

Yaris is selling for two reasons, one its fuel economy and second its reasonably comfortable.

Shape does not matter alot. in this category, Its more about features and comfort.

City even the current generation, if fully equipped i.e. Airbags and driving assistance etc. is worthy of competing with Yaris, let alone the sixth generation

6th generation could be a viable option if Honda instead of stripping features like before adds features in PKDM City and that is highly possible with Yaris in the market having features unknown to C-segment sedans before in Pakistan, also personally I like the 6th Gen shape better than Yaris. It would be good if they can offer projector headlamps in city and can keep the brake lamp halogen for cost management in normal conditions having better headlamps is better.

Considering their past track record, I don’t think we will see anything more than, 2 airbags, touchscreen and maybe automatic climate control maybe just maybe they might offer sunroof but that’s me just being optimistic.

Honda and Indus will never give sunroof in this category, its their mentality to still present sunroof as a "premium" feature restricted to civic and grande , when its given by their counterparts elsewhere.
