Many interesting aspects of this launch. Pre-booking from 17th May and launch month is July. While the car will be available for test drive from August. Minimum Investment from their end. Most of the pre-bookings will be from investors and dealers. It will push the availability of the car to end user purchasing without OWN to 2022. Bravo!!!

I think Atlas can "Amaze" everyone with 1.2L engine.

If your wild theory comes true......which is highly unlikely, one could, marginally could.....ignore the 6th gen debacle as the consumer would be getting 2 cars to choose from. More options for the consumer the better.

Does seem kinda credible due to 6th gen not having any engine below the 1.5 throughout the world, so atlas may not have been allowed to put 1.3/1.2 in city. Giving it the dxire name is also highly suspect. But on the other hand trying to justify 1.2 makes it seem that they are justifying the engine and not the completely different car and also if amaze was coming, we must've seen a few leaks already.

Their asking 1.2 million for pre booking without even officially revealing the model forget the specs. Are they that doubtful of their own product

Amaze looks like Saga though.

On the other hand they could have launched 7th Gen with Amaze, if they so badly wanted to keep the entry price low!

Amaze is wishful thinking, You think Altas would do that kind of investment. Their just gonna launch an underpowered 1.2 6th gen to keep entry level variant as low as possible

Pathetic level of Decision Making by Honda Atlas. Imagine their confidence level at their own product and they expect the customers to blindly trust. I have waited for nearly six months in anticipation of Elantra base Model and now thinking to go for city, but with this level of Marketing strategy, I think Toyota Yaris is the best both in terms of quality and reliability. Looks are subjective, (if all looks matter, alsvin is best in class).

1.2 variant is definitely Honda Amaze.

otherwise no 1.2 in GM6 proper with cvt.

Kya ye kafi nhi that they are updating one car...I am not expecting an Amaze from them at this point. Sp cially agar Amaze laani hoti to wo city k label k neechay lanay ki kya zarurat thi. Alag product name say aaye gi to attraction hi alag hogi

If gli can go with 82 hp engine for so long , honda city 1.2 89 hp engine can do with lighter honda city.

If Honda was to bring amaze they wouldn't name is Dzire or Dxire.

Since the Dxire or Dzire name is associated with Suzuki Swift Dzire.

Their have been other cases where their have been Pakistan only engines and cars have been modified to put specific engines in Pakistani variants.

Additionally honda is offering a 1.5 CVT standard variant aswell.

For now only one car. Later honda might bring in the amaze or Brio since both share the same platform as of BRV.

I think the DXIRE is just the lower end varaint name for City.

The top end version being "ASPIRE"
The lower end 1.2 litre with a new name "DXIRE".

NO two models like Amaze and City. Just the one City.

As of engine, the 1.3L was also not available on the 5th generation City as we have as of now but as it shares platform with FIT / Jazz, and that had 1.3, we saw it on the our City.

Same might be the case with with GM6 City. 1.2L is available on FIT and GM6 and 3rd gen FIT are technically related so, its availability on GM6 is possible

is it possible that Honda is going for three models in next 1-2 years:

1. amaze (to counter picanto, alsvin , saga <2.1 M )
2. city (6th or 7th to counter yaris 2.5- 3 M)
3. Civic (corolla /eleantra 3.5 -4 M)

Honda also upgraded their karachi plant in last couple of years. although i highly doubt they can manufacture 2 x subcompact sedans at the same time, but AMAZE is really a cheap looking sub-sub-compact car. it cannot replace the brand of city.

One reason for Honda Atlas to use "City Dxire" as a model name for Amaze (if offered) to milk out City brand value. Sell expensive a C segment sedan.

Yes, I agree, this is the logical possibility but what about their claim that 1.2 engine will bring "exceptional fuel efficiency" and "increased cabin space". How do you explain/justify that?

1.2 in GM6 city will NOT have exceptional fuel efficiency(it will definitely be worse than 1.5) and the displacement of the engine has no bearing on the cabin space.

All these statements are marketing gimmicks.. nothing else.. which car compnay says their car is NOT fuel efficient?

The GM6 will be spacious than previous generation and also with 1.2L it will be bigger in size with respect to other 1.2 models in the market.

I believe you have not seen the CIVIC TURBO RS marketing campaign, I mean it's the same 1.5T Turbo but with RS badge on it and it becomes all they way different as per Honda Atlas..

Problem is all its competitors now have around the same power as city 1.3, 98hp. So it will feel underpowered in comparison especially as hp alone does not tell the full story. Corolla 2nzfe didn't feel completely crippled because of normal low end torque. Yet city 1.3 at low revs sometimes feels even slower than corolla 1.3 due to crappy ivtec sohc by honda which completely murders low end torque. So 1.2 in 6th gen will feel terrible to drive as it has the sohc ivtec as well and even lower torque. I hope its actually the amaze 1.2 as that car weighs around 100kg lower than city, so should not feel totally handicapped with the 1.2.

1.3 was available on 5th gen outside of pakistan, you can check. They abandoned that engine with the 6th gen. I think I remember something about 1.3 being axed in some countries with the 5th gen facelift, but I'm not 100% sure.
