The problem I have with this hypothesis is that when Suzuki's sedans couldn't compete with Honda and Toyota at similar prices, wouldn't a hatchback fare even worse?
Yes, the market for a Suzuki sedan isn't that big but I'm 100% certain it would be more popular than Swift.
Secondly, look at Alsvin, over time it has slowly carved its way into the sedan segment. So why can't Suzuki do the same?
And here's the most interesting part. Going through Suzuki's prices in Thailand, it is surprising to see that Ciaz and Swift cost virtually the same!


So now imagine features similar to new Swift inside a CKD Ciaz at the same prices. It would absolutely rule the competition just like it's doing in India. I can't understand why PakSuzuki chose to launch new Swift instead of Ciaz, it's a real shame.
