AOA to all
my nissan sunny 1992 jx 1000cc engine head gasket blown and my head is also weak please guide me wheather i put double gasket or get head repaired or get a steel gasket. i live in karachi near landi kotal plz guide me if you where to get a steel gasket and the prices of gasket and gasket replacement

This double gasket solution will never work. After engine rebuild on my B13, I had the double gasket burnt thrice. Each time it costed Rs. 800 for two gaskets, plus mechanic labor (around Rs. 2000) and engine oil (around Rs. 2000).

It would be better to search for a good head (though finding one in good nick for E10 or E13 engine would be next to impossible, IMHO). Dropping a QG15DE seems to be the best option.

Well it seems you have done quite a bit of research on this one.

For QG18, you may also need to upgrade the suspension, brakes and tires. Its costly due to these requirements. Rates of QG15 and QG18 are almost same in Rawalpindi (roughly around 55K with transmission). In case of QG15, you can easily mate it with GA15 gearbox. In Rawalpindi Saddar, mechanics are familiar with this engine. And desi electricians have lot of experience of wiring it up, to at least make it run.

Not sure if you can find that much support for QG's in Hyderabad. You'll have to get involved yourself for some time to sort out its wiring.

Once done, it will be a charm to run, IA

The hydraulic clutch installation in a B13 with a QG18 sitting in it and an upgraded brake servo is NOT an easy installation, the "swap in an hour and suffer for a lifetime" mechanics in pindi saddar had tried and given up on this setup and I had a really hard time giving my mechanic the motivation to attempt it. It took many days of dedicated effort to place it in a way that it remains reliable, its been running for five years now without a single issue.

Do note that their are too many transmissions available with the QG18 motor, the one I got had a pretty huge clutch and pressure plate while those that many friends had were quite small.

Yes I have been thinking on it hard since I have made this thread that may be I should not go with QG18 but lets see. I wish I was in rawalpindi but im in hyderabad and there is no support for nissans here so I will be going to karachi for the work and prices there as I am hearing are a bit higher than in pindi.

I was talking about hydraulic clutch because the QG tranny comes with Hydraulic clutch and I do not want to install GA tranny, I know fitting a new component that isn't made for the car is going to be difficult but hey its not impossible.. and I am not that much stupid person to get one hour swap and then come and cry for help here thats why I have made this thread to get the real info from real people who have had good/bad experiences with their nissans and then decide accordingly what to do, now please can you tell me what tranny are you running and any issues you had with it?

MASHALLAH, I think your B13 is the only one in Pakistan with that NEO engine cover isn't it?

You must be having 8.5 inches diameter one. I have that too. It's the last size of clutch plate.

Brother when u place two head gaskets all the engine power and heat energy is given to the gasket because stroke is being eaten up by the gasket.
So it's not recommended.
For steel head gasket you've to get a new head and firstly kharaad person will see ur cylinder too that it has a smooth and straight face.
If cylinder is never faced and u get a new kabli head that is never faced and mate them with steel gasket. Before it they will do some 'Amory' face in which they apply a paste between head and cylinder and rub the head on cylinder without placing gasket.
That gasket will last longer and since you've had overheating issue, you'd be having difference in piston rings too.
What about piston pins? And crankshaft?

My b11 had the same cover but sold it.
Now a friend has that cover and like 7-8 people from rawalpindi isb have this cover.
It keeps on coming after somedays.

First of all good head is impossible to find second if you find one it will be around 12 to 15k
