now I have followed your thread too and you seem to be very happy with your QG15, now tell me what would you do if it was your b13? would you go for QG15, 16 or 18??? and please can you tell me what tranny are you running?

Well, I love the acceleration, power and economy of QG15. As I have mentioned in other threads, I have achieved 195 Km/h on motorway. And economy with normal driving on long drives is 16-17 kpl.

Haven't checked the gearbox model, but I think it is from GA15 (manual) one. Running trouble free for 3.5 years, Alhamdulillah.

If I have to swap on another B13, my preference would be QG15 again...

First of all good head is impossible to find second if you find one it will be around 12 to 15k

I second the comment made by @isbcap. QG15DE is very good engine. You dont have to go for QG18DE unless you are a race freak. QG15 is more than sufficient with good power and fuel economy. I would surely recommend QG15DE

Yes exactly. It's economical and even you can throttle it and give tough times to Corrollas and Hondas. QG18de is too much torque not every one can manage the grip on wheels.
Normal tires spin wheels on it badly when throttled full.
So to daily drivers I'd recommend QG15de.

QG15de..
QG16 is very rare here. It's available in ethrottle mostly here.

Secondly you need to change axles, and install a new clutch plate set because kabli is 4/10 clutch plate most of the time and they clean it with petrol to make it rough lolz.

So then comes check if the flywheel is smooth. If not then Polish it.

Secondly if you get genuine manual transmission of QG15 it would be good for you.

Rest all the hectic thing is hooking up the wiring.

If it's three row ecu wiring manual available is in Russian but don't worry I've decoded it in to English completely.

Then comes engine should be leveled inside properly. Height should be leveled.

Then checking for thermostat valve because usually scrappies take out the valve.

When you'd be checking the engine do check for the cut pipes, belts, cracks on block, sensors should be properly working.

Wiring should be uncut, properly in the loom.

Likewise if you require any further help, keep posting here and experts will keep on helping out.

Ok brother so the points you have told here are already in my mind these are little things and can be checked visually like clutch, thermostate, belts, pipes etc. the things i am worried about are:

2. I wasn't sure about fuel tank but now I recall my fuel tank will be needed to change because the guage thing lock is broken and it is closed with wires, so will need repair or replace.

4. I think the current exhaust will work just muffler will be needed to replaced?
5. Which tranny comes with QG15? and I think If I cant find that in particular then my only option will be GA one, and as per @isbcap it is running good.

For QG15 forget the tranny.
Go with ga one.
I have used ga tranny on my QG15 for three years with immediate throttle kinda driving. It worked fine.

Then comes exhaust piping. For QG15 u can go with same piping. Upgrade the big rear reasonator or install a small reasonator in middle because car would be going hard on the reasonator.

Else everything is smooth and calm. Wish u best of luck.

ok brother initially I planned a trip to khi on this saturday for market survey but it is 50/50 right now. lets see what happens.., and timming side mounting will come with engine but will it fit in the original position? thats my question. and I think transmission side will need some fabrication like I saw in @star2 thread.. @isbcap if you have mounting pics please post here or I will go and take a look at your thread tomorrow, and also provide some info on axles and hubs when you get free time.. thanks

For QG15 forget the tranny.
Go with ga one.

ok just confirmed from manual that tranny for qg15 is same as of GA, so thats sorted and One more thing I wanted to ask that is the wiring of QG18 and 15 similar? because in a manual that I have it says QG15 in some places but in ECU pinouts and diagrams it only says QG. it is for the 4 row ecu though please clarify if any one has info regarding this

Yes wiring is similar in four row ecu too some pins are active in QG18de due to different pcm and in three row ecu same is the case.

QG15 tranny is different from ga. But QG15 is not a monster like QG18de so it won't be eating clutch plates early.

If you're not changing the gear.
No need to change the mounts.
I swapped from cd20 to
QG15 and only timing side foundation was changed. Fitting of mount at chasis is same only bracket at engine end has different bolt position, in one the three bolts are placed in a triangular arrangement closely and in QG15 it's in triangular arrangement too but distance of bolts from one another is more or in some case close so if you get the mount from scrappie, you just have to hook it to the engine timing side and middle rear mount will stay the same and mount near the battery will also stay the same.

Incase you're changing transmission and putting in QG15 gear or QG18de gear, you've to make new mount brackets or have to adjust the same one's.

So I'd say don't change the gear if it's not giving any sound.
Just get QG15 without gear. It will cost you at least 10k cheaper.

Don't worry for pin outs.
Many people here have pin outs for both four row and three row ecus.

Some work was done on gear side mounting only. Mine had E13 mountings, and none was changed other than this gear side one. They even said that E13 gearbox would work fine, which I had got repaired couple of months before swap. Still I paid extra 10K to get the gearbox replaced.

And I don't think any axles were changed in my case.

No changes to exhaust / muffler as well. Fuel pump placed inside the tank (Xli one).

It was a 7-8 hours swap all in all...
