it is same, according to the manual GA15, QG15 AND CD17 have the same tranny the RS5F30A. go back a few pages i posted parts of manual which gove this info

Oh, if I would be at your place, I would not do that even if it is the same one, I would rather buy an engine from scrappy which is with most of its things attached to it. Theoretically things look different, practically they become different. You are free to try that though.

hahaha man you are taking it a bit wrong... I am not keeping my tranny I will get a new tranny with the QG15 but my point is if it is same how can axels and shifter can be such an issue?

but my questions here to you is, you have a good mechanic there in Hyderabad to put QG in? i will send you a complete engine with wiring and everything, but then what? would the mechanic be able to fix that engine in your car and not say that this thing is bad, that thing is bad?

so point is, you are right at what you said some posts back, go with the engine you are finding in your vicinity, be it a good E15. When I was there in Karachi 2 years back for my car, i bought an excellent E15 which is still going strong in a friend's car and I bought it for 35k I guess, just swapped the engine and booom. you want to drive the car or you want to start a project, decide first. Second option comes with a lot of hassles, and you have to be ready for it then rather than complaining. Visits to lahore, pindi, is a no matter then, and i'm telling you, it will be multiple visits.

Ahan, okay, I do not know if you can still use the CD17 axles with QG, I really do not know. I have used N16 axles and they are a proper fit. But to my poor limited knowledge, fitting the axle in the gear only does not matter, the length from the hub and design of gear box also comes into play. Maybe, @xulfiqar can explain that, as he is the one with black hands

Im amazed how you have that transmission?

Open a hood of any manual nissan 2005-6 you'll see how does a RS5F30A looks like uski chasis plate pe bhi likha hai number compare it with yours.

The tranny code is same and it has same shell but the clutch and pressure plates used in CD17 are not same as QG15 or GA15. GA15 and QG15 tranny is pretty much same but their are some differences

the QG manual transmission gears are big, and I mean seriously, they are big compared to GA, CD and E series gears.

I've seen cd20-cd17 transmission it looks like a ga tranny.
But RS5F70A and RS5F30A aur ga wali tranny mein zameen asmaan ka fark hai. Ga wali ka bore thora andar ki taraf hai and RS5F30A ka kafi bahir hain and then RS5F70A ka kafi bara. Bore and kafi lamba hai.

yes I am a bit skeptical for getting a swap in hyderabad, but the mechanic is quite experienced have done many swaps (not QGs though). QG is just an engine like other engines so I think It is not that much difficult, keeping in mind that people are getting QGs swaped in 8-10hrs in your side of the world. I just do not want to put GA15 while I can get a better engine like QG. once all my doors are closed to QG I will simply buy the GA and be done with it.
Regarding your question of a project or just for driving, I kind of want both(H)

Right now I am preparing the car to be droped at the denter to deal with some issues so I am not In a hurry, though holidays are limited so may be I wait and try to swap in next Holidays, but if I get a engine shiped to hyderabad then the swap will continue

that's why I have made this thread to get proper info first from people like you who have done such work and then proceed

yeah look brother, the point is, availability is the issue when it comes to QG even. finding right parts, ECUs, wirings, electrical stuff, and once you will be putting in QG, you will be looking at replacing other things as well. For instance, just for preparation, take out your main gadri (suspension) apart from the body and inspect what's the condition of the body there. check your steering rack, check your hubbs, check your front gadri (body) on which radiator condensor sit look what's the condition of that, check if your center gadri (suspension) is fixed with welding or it is still luckily with the original bolts

dude we talked about this I showed you the manuals, plus it is written on my cars plate, now I dont know my cars origin if it was petrol then converted to diesel, but I will post pics tomorrow of the tranny I have should clear things up a bit. the issue is not the tranny I have the Issue is the Tranny that will come with the QG and how will it fit in the car thats it.

now we are talking, the main gadri (sub frame the rear one) is according to me ok and it is on the list to be looked at and if needed it will be changed. the body has rust issue but thats why it is going to the denter, the steering rack i think is toast it makes sound when steering is turned, the front gadri I dont know about havent looked at it, however the upper support of radiator is completely toast will need work, and front suspension will also be worked on so lets see how it goes

Scrapies themselves even donot know which is GA tranny and which is QG. Because most of the times QG18 comes with auto tranny and its coupled with GA tranny which results in bad gear ratios. The original manual tranny for QG18 is RS5F70A, which is rare and quite hard to find, i have attached picture of QG18 manual tranny pic for reference RS5F70A.

yup thats the beast RS5F70A for QG18, but we are talking about RS5F30A which is for QG15
