A customer’s narrative of choosing Suzuki Ciaz over GLi & City

It is not about CBU, V2 is a CBU, it is 1300cc, it has airbags, ebd, abs, FR interior, alloy rims, hankook tires. 3 years warranty and is still 1069k. Are people flocking to buy it? Mind you it is being assembled by FAW the same company that has exclusive rights to manufacture Toyota in China. It is the first company outside japan to assemble and manufacture Prius.

Now if you want to tread into Honda and Toyota territory than things become different. Please don't compare Shitzuki that to Thai assembled lowest quality manufacture.

Had they brought it from Japan things would be different. Thai and Paksitani build quality is not much, yes it will be large for Shitzuki as they are used to assemble crap but the same cannot be said for toyota and hinda their build quality is better and specially grande gets pretty good reviews.

So please your CBU logic is not a good enough excuse. In terms of CBU V2 is a steal. better delivery time also

Stop writing in favor of shitzuki just because it's a cbu, it's their own laziness that they didn't manufacture it locally, and as if pricing would have been any better for a pkdm ciaz pfft! Look at the pkdm non cbu cultus HUH!

We'll I have driven ciaz of my uncle and gli automatic of my brother in law and personally I have aspire 1.5..and simply I have to say ciaz is 100 times better then Pakistan's favorite sedan gli khota...I simply love its handling fuel efficiency and even build quality is way better then my aspire 1.5 .only two basic things is missing alloy rim and Android unit.our Pakistani awam will keep buying xlis and glis badly underpowered cars in rs 17.60,18.80 and 1950 and keep saying ciaz tou farigh hay yeh tou piaz hay yeh tou bohat expensive hay

To sit higher and supposedly get a better view, I would prefer using an orthopedic air-cushion or back support.
Boot space/volume, well, not that much of a fan of a boot-space to be honest. I drive my car daily to my office and back and log an out of city tour around three or four months apart.
13 km/l in city can be achieved by city and gli if you drive smart.
Two airbags, hmmm, you may be having a slight bit of point here but, consider this, you want dual airbags, you can pretty much afford a very reasonable Japanese import (all round better cars!)

Suzuki should have introduced latest swift which has approx 1200 cc k14b engine, so it means less taxes and it is bigger and beautiful than current swift, instead they are wasting their and our time in launching vitara and ciaz at insane price.

Agree to your part on him being a student and not paying for it. only PIAZ had in favor was marginally cheaper and readily available. Both the things are not applicable anymore.

As for build quality you can get an excellent Aqua in this price range with all the features imaginable that PIAZ does not even dream to offer.

I respect your arguments bro but you did not give me a clear answer of gli and aspire being a CBU cars (the price) and please elaborate that cars made in Thailand is of lowest quality?
Secondly Toyota aqua is a good car too more than ciaz in terms features and with a reasonable price tag but again the question arises about the reliability of the car. Everyone knows that these imported reconditioned cars are mostly accidental and you cannot have a guarantee about its safety and performance. Auction papers are tempered by the car dealers and think of it that you are spending a considerable amount of money.

So in my point of view buying a brand new car with less features and with 100% reliability is better than buying a used car with a lot of features with no reliability at all.
This my humble opinion, you all may different opinion so share it.

Lastly I am neither a fan of suzuki and nor they pay to me for my blog, they wont even bother to look at this article. I have many arguments about them especially in terms of price but this time they have done something a bit different and so yes there are pros and cons of every car and the manufacturer policies.

I replied to your context of CBU, Corolla being CBU is a null case because they are manufacturing it in PK and no need for CBU.

Why do you compare abused 3.5 or r grade car with a 5 or 5A grade car. If you import one yourself or from a trusted dealer and there are many you can get an exceptional Aqua in 2 to 2.1 million the price of PIAZ auto. I am not talking about the ones you get for 1.5 to 1.7 million.

As for reliability, Aqua in good condition and proper record is 100% more reliable as it has support of 1000's of importer and user base to back it of. As for PIAZ on 200 units were imported i can still find many units at all dealershits, so that means safely 150 units sold in pakistan and you are talking about support from SHITZUKI who cannot fix the issue with breaking windscreen in Swift a car they have been assmbeling for more than half a decade.

You continue to live in your fantasy world of having the best sedan currently in Pakistani market. I still say not a bad car but insanely stupid price.

One question of this car was priced 3.5million PKR would you still buy it?
For any sane person the answer is NO, so that means no matter how good it has to be reasonably prices.

As for thai build quality, it is no Japan, they have assembly plant and QC control. QC is missing in SHITZUKI Pakistan. but QC is some what better at Honda and Toyota.

One more thing, You are comparing SHITZUKI sedan that has been around for a year in gloabal market with the likes of CITY/Corolla. Please get a life. SHITZUKI japan does not know what it wants from its sedan segment. Look at their history.

Swift sedan 91 to 95, Baleno 96 to 2001, Liana 2002 to 2007, SX4 2008 to 2014/5. Kizashi failed and a few attempts here and there. Now PIAZ. so lets give it another 4 years and it gets obselete.

One contender that has managed to cling on is Swift Dzire but that is to a limited market

SHITZUKI has sedan offering span on around 5 years and then customer are welcome to dispose...

Most of people here on PW are in favour of jay dee emm. Accidented repaired driven 200k kms nothing matters. To me local manufactured brand new suzuki honda or toyota is much better than orphanage jdms.

yes almost 75% are accident and used around 1lac plus km and are sold with meter reversed to 20k-30k km with that much driven car it is total old mal with khar khar and problems plus no new car maza

I would buy a new local car and use it for 3-4 yrs then again buy a brand new car. Its pointless to buy the cars throwen from other countries or scrapped by them. No offence to anyone but we Pakistani have a serious craze about JDM or anything Made in Japan.

Still ignoring the JDM options. Even out of the local ones Ciaz is not something I would prefer over a tried and tested Corolla at the same price or even a more than 3 lakh cheaper relatively uncomfortable City. Atleast I have a security that this car won't be an orphan when one fine day Pak Suzuki motor company simply decides to discontinue it.

Back in 2007 a brand new Liana RXi was around 800,000 and a City was around 900,000. And even today the same City is for 900,000 and Liana is for 550,000-600,000. Not to mention that those Lianas are now a pain to maintain because Suzuki left them orphans and didn't provide back up properly and they can't be fixed to ideal now. One trouble goes away and the other comes in. Absolutely unreliable. Point being: looking at this past record why would anyone want to risk their hard earned money on a product that has a poor past record and an uncertain future based on that same poor past. Suzuki should first prove its cars are worth it, bring in a good reputation which only time will prove. Till then they shouldn't ask for such high prices. First deserve then desire. And their past record doesn't exactly support the deserve part.

Again I am not saying Ciaz is a bad car. The overall package isn't good when you bring other things into the equation.

I have not called Thai as crap and never will, what i said was that it is lowest trim available in thailand and secondly it is not japanese. so it will be a fine product (miles ahead of local shitzuki) but a Shitzuki none the less
