Please do share the places you get the parts from. I have a manual 5L hilux 2.8. its isi version and japan import. Now i am also thinking to change its dashboard and meter cluster. Only fuel guage and temp guages work in my meter cluster. rest i hope by seeing your project i will also get the comfidence to start restoring my horse

so next day I took it for the first day to workshop, this is where the restoration process officially begins.

to begin with I changed the oil, used Delo Silver. With Filter change, it has a capacity of 7.5 liters and 7 Liters without filter change. Changed the diesel filter as well, Air filter was replaced as well.

From here I took the vehicle to a car decoration shop, which is owned by a friend and we got an Android Powered, disc-less screen installed to it, a condensed bass tube was also installed under the seat (good music hurts none you see). LED tubes were installed to both headlights (i am not a very big fan of Xenon Lamps).

Now came the second stage, the vehicle must have never required an air-conditioner in Chitral, but in Lahore, it gets quite unforgiving in the summers and driving a vehicle without air conditioner is next to impossible. following parts list was identified for AC Operations:

1. Internal kit (AC ducts, Evap with Blower Motor, Heating Coil)
2. Compressor
3. Condensor
4. Related Wiring, Thermostat Switch, Refrigerant Pipes etc.

Since i had the chance before to work along @hotice819 (Bilal Sb) on his LC80, I had some basic level of knowledge and connections to source parts from various parts of Pakistan. After all my research work, I have identified Rawalpindi (Ahata Mithu Khan / IJP Road) to be the best solution for pre-owned parts of these old gas guzzlers. I ordered the following parts:

1. Complete AC unit (Including internal ducts, evap, condensor, compressor).
2. Complete Dashboard (It had a small crack on one side, maybe ignorable for some friends, but broken plastics is a big no for me) .
3. Cluster

We stripped out the entire dashboard and started off with the AC Installation. It took us about 2 days in total to get the AC up and running.

parallel to this AC job, i dropped the seats and the door cards for make over to the "Poshish Maker". Seats were re-built with additional foam insertion to make them as much comfortable as we can.

sir through out this thread, we will stick to as much stock stuff as we can. The AC is working awesome, and yes its stock setup.

coming back to the workshop, we stripped down the entire suspension. Changed bearings, disc pads, all bushings etc. performed a detailed oiling and greasing on all parts. All parts were procured and put new --- that too Toyota OEM. A little hard to find, but where there is a will there is a way.

As quoted above during the initial posts, the gear lever had missing sealing rings due to which a lot of noise and hot air was coming into the cabin. For this I did a quick trip to bilal ganj and finally found all required parts.

I must say one thing... You guys are doing what a Hilux was supposed to do Off Road... You are not blinging it up and are driving itbhow it should be... Best of luck and definitely subscribe.. do mention what are you plans for the engine and suspension upgrade or overhauls.

After getting the suspension work, compression test and general electrical work done, we took the vehicle to the car decoration shop again for the interior make over. Work Done included:

1. Installation of 4 speakers
2. Installation of reversing camera
3. Installation of new floor carpet
4. Installation of new built door cards
5. Installation of New ceiling (poshish).

Where was all this work done?

I am intentionally not sharing any price / facility name. Not that I dont want to keep anything hidden, but I dont want anyone to think its a MARKETING effort done for anyone specific.

Although, if you think they did a good job, they have every right to be given a shout out. Open to suggestions from you guys!
