Enough of the fancy talking, now lets get into the "Mechanic Mode"....
After catching up with some good sleep for like 12-14 hrs, finally i got outside and gave the hilux a detailed look, drove it around my colony for 2-3 KM's and to begin with I identified following things need to be addressed.
First things first, change all fluids for your baseline reading:
1. Change engine oil
2. Change Dif Oils (front and back)
3. Change the gear oil (its a manual transmission machine)
4. Change radiator coolant (it was running on rusted and oxidized water)
5. Change Oil and Diesel Filter.
Phase II: Identification of things which were apparent
1. Make the gauges work (none worked as we speak)
2. Installation of Air Conditioner (it had not even a blower installed to it)
3. Get the exhaust fixed (it was too loud due to a faulty header washer)
4. Run a compression check to see if we need to address a weak engine
5. Check for leakages (oil and coolant), fix as necessary maybe.
Phase III: Lets make it mechanically sound
1. Open all mechanical parts of suspension and inspect.
2. Replacement of all bushings (even if they are not broken)
3. Oiling and Greasing
4. Break Servicing / Replacement of Break Pads and rear leathers.
Phase IV: Cosmetics
1. Seats make over / rebuild
2. Door Cards
3. Dashboard replacement
4. New Cluster
5. Make all buttons work on the dashboard
6. New Carpet
7. A good sound system with 4 speakers and rear camera
Phase V: Give it a mean look
1. A complete paint job with complete strip down of paint, denting painting.
2. Vibration Damping
3. Bull Bars
4. Lighting
5. Go to the last detail --- address everything to the slightest of details.
The upper list might sound not that big, but my dear brethren, Easier said then done!
...This is where it becomes a workshop thread!
