The Tilla Jogian has immense scenic beauty is probably the birth place of one of the oldest religious institutions of Hinduism. The hill towers to a height of over 975 meters west of Jhelum. From a bridge on the river outside Jhelum, the hill appears elongated perpetually swathed in purple skein. The magnificent view from Jhelum encompasses the complete hill valley as well as the river. Tilla Jogian is 24 KM from Rohtas Fort, 128 KM from Rawalpindi and 205 Km Lahore. It takes 01:15 hours from Rawalpindi to Rohtas Fort Road Condition from Rohtas Fort to Tilla Jogian can be difficult to travel at times. Approximately 10 KM is ?Kacha? the road converts into mud after rain making traveling difficult to impossible. Parts of the road are made of stones which are quite un-even and jumpy.

I traveled to Tilla Jogian on 10th March 2013 with 2 of my friends,

This picture is taken after exiting from Rohtas Fort from the west site heading towards Tilla Jogian. if you want to go till top, you need to have a 4X4 jeep, beacuse it is a jeepable track.

after 1.5 KM of metal road, this 22 KM long jeep track starts at the left side of metal road that leads you to the top of the hill.

hardly after 500 meters, we found a local baba jee (his name was ?Raja Pervaiz?) who told us that you cant go through this track up to the hill, and if you park your car few KM after this point and trek towards hill this will take too long, so he guided us not to go through this track, go further 10 to 15 km on main road from where you have turned and park your car in the village named as "Bhait" in the Haveli of his relative, Bhait village is right below this hill, he said if you trek from this village you will hardly reach at top within 2 hours of time. So we turned our car back and went towards that village. Thanks Baba Jee.

This was a plan of our team members to visit Tilla this year on my return from KSA in August, 2017. So, today on 20th August, 2017 we (Omer Shoaib, Sajjad Ashraf, Azhar Shafiq, Muhammad Imran n me Hassan Jawad) attempted 2nd time to reach the top of tilla jogian on 4x4 jeep but after 5km of jeepable track we found that this is not a jeepable track during the moon soon season. This is because the rain water has deepened the ground clearance more than 4ft and we returned back unsuccessfully . This is the worst track I have seen till now. Earlier we tried from Sanghoi side but remained unsuccessful in 2012.

On the way down, a local guy told us that after rainy season Forest Department shall repair this track. We shall try next time.

We have not chosen the Hiking Track because one of our member's health condition doesn't allowed him for hiking.

Lucky Guys!!! Baba Gee was infect a blessing in disguise as this trek is a hell difficult for motorcycles even. But also an adventurous as well.

I visited tilla Jogian through this graded route on my motorcycle in 2005. This road was a temporary arrangement for Pak Army for seasonal exercises. Now that graded road is also not able to lead you on top as it has been severely damaged and not repaired as this area is very sensitive from defense point of view & visitors are not encouraged on this side of the Range.

You are right it seems visitors are encouraged in this area. And track is simply an over ambitious adventure.

Hassan, Ayyan and Hamza has done it at the age of 7 years.
Qasim, Ahmad and Omer in their teens and Farrukh, Tayyab and Omer are 40+.
