Hello, and greetings from Finland! This is the only place I found someone actually took off the gauge. Look, I need to take off the immobilizer green flashing key icon light. As my CL9 has a flashed ECU with immo deactivated so the damn light blinks all the time. Can you give me a rundown how hard it's gonna be to deactivate the led?

Haha you're right there is no video or assistance on the replacement for leds on our cl7 cl9 cluster gauges. Did you find this forum via google search??
I'll tell you what you should do.
1. Just see a video on removal of honda accord 2003 cluster gauge from the dash board. the process is same for accord CM5 and CL9.
2. Once you have it out. You will first have to remove the black plastic wiser kind of a thing followed by removing the clear plastic cover. Simple side clips. This is the easy part
3. The way to remove the needles is to lift absolutely straight up. The way i did this was using a folk or you can use a plastic trim tool. There will be some play in the needle and you may feel like you are gonna break the pin. But its just that its fitted in there pretty tight and there is no adhesive or anything holding it. It will just come out if you pull hard enough and straight up. Dont bend it side ways else the shaft holding these needles may get bent
4. now you can go ahead removing the white board at the back of the odometer which will expose the green pcb and it will come straight out
5. locate the green led that you want to remove/replace. you will need a heat gun. once u heat it enough it will just become loose and you can lift it with a tweezer

Cautions: please be careful while handling the screen that has the digits on it. the black part. it has a fine coating which makes it absolutely matte finish. if you will rub it or try to clean it, it will become glossy and you dont want your cluster gauge reflecting any sunlight during day time. this will especially be important when you try to remove the needles. please ensure you dont rub your tool against the black surface. just carefully insert it under the needles or if you have rubber gloves on, you may be able to pull out the needles with your fingers if you have a good grip. i think im not forgetting anything. if you get stuck you can contact me on whatsapp. +923212420777

I forgot one part. Putting the needles back you must align them manually to the 0 position for speed, E position for fuel and C position for temp. Just align them with the bottom line. When you switch the meter on and off a few times it will realign. Aligning the needles may be a bitch and you might have to open it up and readjust once or twice before getting it right. There may be some random videos available for aligning needles. The process is same for many cars.

Max I've seen in Civic even after friendly runs is around 58C whereas in Accord even in normal driving 60C to 65C is common.

This would be my Accord's IAT, fully warmed up, night time, with barely couple of minutes of idling i.e. waiting outside a shop or something (meaning not even in a heavy traffic situation).

Intake temps from cl9. The one with 28C outside air temp is without resonator. Below is with outside temp 20c in November. Check the max and min

The temperature drops in both cases are wot.

Does seem to be lower, especially the higher side ones though there could be lots of factors depending upon driving conditions.

I'm gonna look into it after I've done my workshifts this week and have spare time. And yes, I found this forum by Google search, lucky me! Some good looking accords here!

My CL9 is 2007 with executive X trim, which has all the goodies (heated leather seats, navigation, Bluetooth etc) except adaptive cruise control, which I believe is super rare to find. My car has the standard cruise control.

Few months back I equipped it with flashed ECU, which changes the VTEC engagement point lower (4600rpm), and raises the rev limiter higher, to 7600rpm. Also DBW optimization for a better throttle response and feeling : pedal position is set 1:1 to throttle position, without any compensation so it behaves like a wired one. The stupid "lag" is gone when pressing throttle pedal. And fuel maps tuned for lower fule consumption at low rpm during normal driving or cruising.

Bro did u get your ecu from Serge bo by any chance. Kindly share some more details about the flashed ECU.
Did u just run a premapped ecu or you fine tuned it after plugging it into your car
I've always had the idea that it's best to tune the ecu once bolted onto a specific car rather than run the same map on a number of cars which could be in different mechanical condition. I wonder if the reflashed ecu adapts to different engine conditions and still maintains the cars optimum performance

The ECU is in fact from Sergey. What details would you like to have? I'm more than happy to provide.

I asked about the flashing that is it better to tune it if it's bolted on a car etc. Doesn't make any difference.

Also I could not sen him my own ECU, since I couldn't be without my car for a week or so. Instead I send him the serial number of my ECU, and he hunted me the exact same ECU, flashed it and sent to me. Hence that's why the immobilizer light is blinking in my car because the immo is deactivated in the flashed ECU.

I see I think you kind of answered my question that his map is kind of universal that it can be placed with any cl9 and it will still perform optimally. I was wondering if it's better to plug it in and then remap ignition timing etc. for each power band depending on the load the car is getting and how each engine behaves differently. But I guess it doesnt make any difference. Have you dynoed your car?

I haven't dynoed my car, other than with my own ass lol. But here is a dyno sheet with both, the stock ECU and flashed one in same sheet.

Can you tell me why do some cars have a small screen over the ac vents and some cars dont have that? Like in liana there's a temperature LCD there.

I can answer to this. It's only in the models which have navigation as standard as far as I know. Because the navi touchscreen doesn't show any info regarding a/c. All the a/c info is in the little screen over the vents.

Yes that small screen goes with the navi in the navi equipped models. Do note that the top panel housing that small screen is a bit smaller in size than the one without that small screen. The aftermarket Android units available are sized for the non-navi models. Meaning that if you swap your OEM navi with aftermarket Android unit then it will leave a small gap between the top of the Android screen and the bottom of the small screen panel.

As regards my car, no I have no plans for selling currently. Besides I can bet there are many members' cars here that are better than mine especially as far as paint condition is concerned.
