Panel lights dont work

Are you referring to the panel on top of the navigation-head? - If yes, well they usually tend to take a toll sooner or later. Majority of CL9's have that problem, I believe replacement is the only solution.

OEM HID for CL9 might be available in Pindi - @viking85 might know where to locate that.

Personal opinion: I think a spoiler would only go with a body-kit, without that the car might seem odd in my perspective.

Rest everything major is in perfect condition.

MashAllah - As long as the car's electronically and mechanically fit all small things can easily be replaced.

No idea brother, my CL9 doesn't have that unit thus never needed to replace | fix | repair.

I'm sure someone here can answer that question for you.

Don't know about you guys but I've always felt old cars getting much smoother after a proper coolant flush and change.

As for oil, 5W40 Leichtlauf is not fully synthetic but 5W40 Synthoil High Tech is. I was also using Synthoil High Tech, but this time I moved to 0W30 Synthoil Long Time - car running superbly!

One front hid is not working. Can i find new original hid of cl9 in market?

Happened to my car once, I got worried. Went to my electrician and asked him to check the fuses first. He checked the fuse box in the engine bay and YES it turned out to be a bad fuse. So do get that checked first.

Car being more than 15 years old, parts are bound to be showered. Which I think doesn't matter if it isnt accidented and looks clean.
As @Rahat083144 said, get it checked first. If need to replace it, You can find OEM HID D2S tubes (pair costs around 2000) from Chah Sultan. Mohib is the guy 0346 5419378.
Chah sultan has a lot of multimedia shops and CL9 navigation experts but they ask insane amounts.
Regarding the spoiler, i agree with @ali.iqbal1. In my opinion, spoiler looks good with body kits only.

My car has body kit and spoiler. I agree with the others that spoiler only looks good if you have body kit. There's a pearl white CL7 next to my house and it has the factory spoiler but no body kit. Doesn't look good to me. But then it also has 16" rims whereas yours look like 17" ones. Body kit does not cause any ground clearance problems - I have scraped my car over speed bumps numerous times but it is always the chassis that hits and never the body kit.

But remember, this is factory body kit I am talking about. The ones normally available in the market are aftermarket ones (e.g. Mugen body kit), not the OEM ones. Aftermarket ones are more aggressive in looks and more prone to scraping - one of my friends had aftermarket bodykit and he hit the front bumper on a speed bump. Bumper was pretty much destroyed and he had to get a new one.

Another quick question everyone. The car i am buying, the owner has mentioned power as 2000 cc on the book and he says it was done to save tax. Also, the engine cover is black, while all the pics i have seen here of cl9 have silver cover while cl7 has black cover. The car has two exhausts in the back. I asked around a few friends and they said that some models of cl9 come with a black engine cover as well. I will post engine pic at end of the msg. I had a discussion with viking85 over this as well and he suggested i should confirm from engine number and model which is written on the engine. I will be doing that tomorrow before making payment and taking possession. I want to know if there is any other way to check this as well that the guy is not trying to sell me a cl7 with two dholkis.....

Awesome question, and one that does not have an easy answer.

K20A4 of CL7 as well as K24A4 of Thai Accord both have black engine covers. K24A3 of CL9 only has silver engine cover. But then engine covers can easily be bolted or unbolted by previous owners so we cant read much into these.

You could check the chassis number, it will say 'CL9' and even try to find VIN number over web. But then engine could've been swapped. So yes, check the engine number.

Twin Exhausts is also a good sign, but they could even have been fiddled with.

Assuming RPM meter is working perfectly (which we CAN assume), easiest way to check is to floor the engine like crazy with AC off. K20A4 and K24A4 can never in dreams rev as high as the K24A3 - real K24A3 will shift at 7300 RPM!! Simplest way to check

Confirmatory method is simple. Check the engine code etched on the block it should have K24A written on it. And match the complete serial number with the one on book as well. If not same, then engine is swapped.
Moreover, as @Rahat083144 said check the plate on passenger side shock mount. It should say CL9. Samples attached for ref:

Engine number should read K24A. It should be below air intake pipe/throttle body on the passenger side front corner of Engine block. Cant seem to upload pic of wngine number. Sent you on whatsapp.

I sensor'd critical information for your privacy. The car's official registration states its a K24. One way of checking is lifting the car up and checking the exhaust. A genuine exhaust will have original engravings - original cats till the extractors but obviously over the period of time the previous owner might have changed them.

As @Rahat083144 states a K24 is a high-revving engine, test drive the car properly to get a proper feel. Honestly I would suggest that you go and test drive other CL9's as well in order for you to get a better idea of the power if you're speculating regarding the car's engine authenticity.

The owner said he put the car as a 2,000CC to save on tax - Ask him why he changed the cover! lol

Yes, this is disconcerting. Hence I repeat - in Pakistan it could only have been swapped with either of two engines - CL7 engine (K20A4) or Thai Accord engine (K24A4). K20A4 has RPM meter showing dotted redline of 6800, then 7000 which is its max revs. K24A4 has RPM meter showing redline of 6500 and will not rev beyond that. CL9 meter shows redline of 7000 but will rev to 7300 max.

Just go out for a quick spin, and check how much your engine revs to, in first gear. If it CROSSES 7000 RPM then it has to be genuine CL9 engine.

Hypothetically speaking; I wouldn't go near a car which has false documentation - If the owner's tried to evade tax, that opens quite a lot of possibilities unanswered. (Not implying that the car in question has one).

Not that I'm discouraging anyone, just speaking my mind over a open-forum.

I mean this is Pakistan and people will do technically anything to make a bang for a buck.

Thankyou brothers. I will match the engine numbers and top rev that it goes too. Ali iqbal, really appreciate the details that you went into. I didnt know you could check these things online. The car is neat and clean and the owner has been fair in dealing till now. I probably will not be able to find a cleaner car in the price i am getting. So i will go for it if the engine number matches the book. If he has swapped the engine for a thai model, the engine number in book should not match the one written on the engine.
