I bought mine from Honda center in the market beside (left of) yonus autos in saddar. Guys name is Sohail.

Honda DW1 is the recommended atf. It's 850-950 pkr per litre. 2.2-2.7 litres required for one change.

This is the Honda recom method i believe from what ive read up. But the oil is in good condition presently(seems recently changed). Will go for only one change with a filter change. Dont wana spend too much on 3 oil changes. Will get air filter as well.
You are right regarding the complete flush. It takes around 6 litres as per Xulfiqar. Method given by him:

Will go for DW1. That honda centre guy is a rip off. I never buy from him. He is selling refurbished shocks (lahore) at insane prices calling them brand new. Moreover his prices are on the higher side as well. Recently ive discovered Alif Autos at the end of Gawalmandi. Two brothers. Found their prices minimum and they tell you what the truth is about the item being bought. They have good quality products. Will update you guys about their prices this weekend

This license plate looks familiar. Is this the "fully loaded" CL 9 in the same color as mine on sale at PW 2 years back? I mean that CL 9 even had Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS). It's like the forefather of Honda Sense.

YES! Same Car. I bought that from Karachi. The car had plenty of issues, mostly electrical and it took a lot of time and resources to figure out and replacement. Had to change its ABS unit, Cruise Kits, Speedometer, ABS Sensors, Throttle sensors, radar kits etc along with the AC unit and alternator.

The car is painted, I was aware of the fact. But when i received the car here in Lahore, none of the functions were working. Initially it looked like wiring issues but when things went in detail, it was figured out that the car had a front accident. And the electrician, instead of resolving the issues, altered and switched off the functions. In fact, check engine light was removed from the meter.

I kept the car for almost a year.It was my 2nd CL9 and apart from the accident factor, it was amazing in all aspects.

The car was sold on a loss because all the amount spent on the replacement of above mentioned parts were totally on my discretion. In fact the new buyer bought it on its sparkling condition when the car was at Honda Aabpara for its transmission oil change. He was not bothered about these features.

Accords are classy rides. Their comfort and driving pleasure is matchless. I still own a CM5 2006 for almost 3 years now and its my priority on the Lahore-Islamabad motorway if its a sedan day out.

I think these accords will always go for a loss once you sell em. Coz once a new owner buys, he spends a good amount on bringing the car to his standards. The exp is even larger if the previous owner was not caring. But I think the experience and pleasure you get while keeping it is worth that loss. Atleast I was mentally prepaeed once buying mine.

Exactly! The maintenance to price ratio is so high, that even if you have to do a bit of work on the car, you are sure to lose money when you sell it.

But in my opinion it's the most practical choice available to a car enthusiast in Pakistan currently, who doesn't have very deep pockets.

Ever since I've had my Accord the only major cost I've incurred is the tranny replacement. Besides that the car has been running flawlessly Allhumdillah. I think in today's market the CL9 is a far superior car compared to all other cars in its price range. Personally speaking, its probably one of the best cars to own in Pakistan in its model year and category. Though I feel bad about the fact that if I ever decide to sell my car I'll be experiencing a great loss as my purchasing price and todays market price has a huge gab lol.

Dont worry just think about the good time you had with this beauty. I totally agree with you guys. In this price segment, no other car can give this much pleasure. Price wise, I bought mine at the higher side as well.

Changed Air filter. Coolant change is next. Still going through the flush process. Water coming out a bit cleaner after 2nd drain. When I drain the water from radiator for the last time before adding coolant, some water wpuld still be there in the block. When i add the coolant to radiator it would get mixed with the water in engine block. Any way to drain the water from block as well??

Where'd you get the filter from? - I've been everywhere for it couldn't find a original one.

Its available in rwp saddar at waqar autos. But Ive discovered a new shop. Alif Autos at the end of Gawalmandi, as i said earlier. Sell good stuff and very reasonable.

How much did you pay for the air filter? - Those places sell genuine Honda parts?, because I need to change my tail lights probably (they've started to become foggy from the inside) and it's really annoying me nowadays. In the morning they look fine but at night with the light illuminated it isn't crystal clear. -.-

They do. Air filter was 2450. Ive started buying stuff from them. Reliable and relatively cheaper. Dunno about tail lights, whether they are available or not. You can get em cleaned. If not, sultan ka khoo has lots of kabli light shops. But youre never sure, those might be opened and cleaned as well. I would suggest try getting it cleaned from saddar. Lots of people there doing lights cleaning and they're good too.

You can drain water from the block by disconnecting the lower radiator hose of course. If the car is fully warmed up with thermostat open then I guess there is greater surety that all water has come out. An aggressive step would be to even turn on the car for a few seconds, so that the water pump pushes more water out. But as I said, this is for a fully warmed up car - hence you then run the risk of introducing cold coolant in a warm block, not to mention instant overheating. Might have to wait too long for engine to cool down. Then there is also risk of air in system - then need to fully warm up the car to make sure thermostat opens and air escapes.

Simplest way is to do multiple drains and refills. Using premixed coolant is best because then you don't need to measure in order to get the exact mix.

Get the tail lights polished/buffed. They would look new if they are not dirty from inside.

So funny story, today I decided to get the Accords radiator cleaned out - Apparently while reconnecting the hoses that dumb f**k mechanic disconnected the trannys oil pipe or some shit - spilling the tranny oil everywhere. At that moment I was gone out for namaz and when I got back and looked at the car when apparently the work was done I noticed something dripping down - went and touched it and it was red oil. Firstly that prick didn't even acknowledge his fault and secondly I had to refill 3 Litres of ATF-3 Zic oil synthetic which I'm not even sure is even good for my car (No Honda's oil was not available anywhere near where I was) - (Previously I had Honda's DW-1). And before this shit, I specifically asked that person if he could disconnect and reconnect the radiator properly magar bc sub ustaad samajtay hain apnay aap ko is mulk mai. Allah ka karam hai I actually decided to stay with the car and didn't go back home, saved myself a tranny.

Wow, that's what I mean when I say 'kholam khali' se mein ghabrata hun. Something always goes wrong and 99% of mechanics, no matter how good, are careless.

Anyway, you've seen all our posts above, Accord tranny is not something to be messed with therefore it's highly advisable to find Z1 or DW1 ASAP.

I'll ask my Honda mechanic if the oil is any good otherwise I'll take it to Honda Avenue to him and get the oil changed. Fazul keh paisay zaya over a bloody 1000 rupee radiator cleaning. Never been so pissed and disappointed. And after that stupid incident I didn't even bother getting the coolant replaced by that dumb mechanic, chawal insaan pehlai sai panay daal keh betha howa tha. The places nearby were all selling shit refurbished oils and coolants. Had to call for my other car so I can go to a authentic Zic dealership nearby to get the oil. When I first went to a nearby place to get the same oil Zic ATF-3 Full Synthetic oil he tried selling me a open bottle 1litre packing for 650 thought I was some dumb ass who couldn't differentiate between original and fake. Bc mai itni ghairat nahi thi keh cheez tu asal dai. And from the dealership I got the same bottle properly sealed and packed for 580.

That's bad. If the car drives fine you can leave it for sometime and then change it to DW1.

My experience with the mechanics has been bad also. Especially the boys they keep. They don't care for the car at all.
