I am in Shanghai since 02 weeks, and trust me, I haven't seen any car made by FAW, Geely, Changan, etc. up till now (and we do not stop praising these brands). Here you see no car less than Audi, Mercedes, BMW, VW, Porsche, Buick, Cadillac, Ford, GMC, etc. People here prefer European / American brands, instead of their own brands. Big 03; Toyota, Honda and especially Suzuki are also nowhere to be seen here, which are considered a so-called "Status Symbol".
A Good Effort by Al-Haj group, but I think, local partners should have JVs with well-renowned brands, who must bring quality vehicles in our country.
Al-Haj FAW has not managed to even introduce FAW V2 in Automatic variant here, or even increase FAW portfolio. How are they gonna bring Proton here, and exclusively sell and assemble sedans, crossovers, SUVs, and hatchbacks of the Malaysian automaker? It would have been more better if Al-Haj group had first diversified it's portfolio with FAW, introduced latest FAW vehicles in the country, especially hatchbacks and mid-size sedans, and then moved for Proton, etc. Still, their money, they better know how to do business!
Why our local partners do not JV with European brands? I may get lots of bashing for all this, but it really hurts when I see top-class brands here, and wish that these brands also make their way to my Country too.
