@Hassan1991 bro I need your help regarding this issue.
My growatt inverter has uneven spikes. Some say it's due to clouds, others say it might be due to a grid problem. The error during those low spikes is 304 (grid frequency outrange).

The inverter has some setting about it and the default freq. is 49.5 low and 50.2 high. So I was thinking about this: Can I change the frequency a bit, like 49.00 to 52.00, so that the frequency fluctuation may not halt the inverter performance. Is it safe to do so on an ongrid inverter? (btw i have seen on growatt website that the frequency can be changed if error 304 is there)

Our grid voltages are not good, always fluctuating around 240... I checked frequency of the grid which is 50.3, not fluctuating.. However, the refrigerator we have has rated freq. 60.. So how on earth is it maintaining itself at a lower frequency??? I thought we have one frequency all over the country...

We have one frequency. But equipments are always designed to consider such fluctuations to some extent. I will not go into power generation, but Inverters are fully electronic; it should not fluctuate, at least not on constant load and power supply. Have you added any load recently?
You should talk with the technical support team of growatt as well.

Well this is an ongrid system which doesn't need load to perform. It feeds power to the grid, so works in sync with the grid voltages and frequency... Any problem in the grid lead the ongrid system to pause...
Hybrids are different story, they also grid feeds but doesn't stop during grid problems...
There are pros and cons of both hybrids n ongrids...
My question was about setting the grid frequency limit... I think the inverter default settings (49.5-50.2Hz) are too narrow for the grid fluctuations (but I am not sure if that really fluctuates, as it shouldn't)

Slight variation is acceptable. Adjust the limit to 51. Can you log frequency as well?

No, there is no record of frequency... The multimeter shows 50.2 to 50.3... i guess thats why the inverter is not syncing with the grid...
I will try changing the limit to 49-51

I got a chance to record the freq. during the error. It was 50.7 and slowly going down back to 50.3... Such is our grid.. We pay millions in bills every year but no improvment.

Varister is used for surge protection.

The symbol of GAS1 on the board is like a capacitor.., but the shape is like a diode... its burnt so can't say for sure

Symbol is of non-polarized capacitor. But they are not mentioned as "gas.".
You need to find the diagram of this board. Can be a film capacitor, but diagram can confirm.
