A lot depends on how you drive the car.
Did a Khi-khr-khi trip recently, averaged 10.5 overall.
In the city its around 9.5 for me
On highway if you drive around 90-105 i think it can give you over 14
But if you overtake aggressively and drive over 115 it quickly falls to below 10
Brv doesnt have a very aerodynamic shape. Road grip is poor at high speed/strong winds. Steering feel is not that great, feels twitchy.
It was my second khi-lhr-khi trip in the brv .. did one in 2018 as well. Even then mileage was similar.

My BR-V S giving me 10.5 to 11 km/L in hot summer rushy city traffic with A/C but in winter its crossed 12 to 13 km/L in city traffic & on highway goes 14 to 16km/L if speed around 120km
But its depends all about your driving conditions and style, overall Brv performance is very good & satisfactory.

Suddenly after turning off vehicle it did not started for 40 mins and then started again
Same happened after driving for 15 KM.

Dealership first diagnosed no petrol comes to engine but when the technician remove the fuel pump and check it mannualy by connecting with battery terminal it works fine.

After this 3 test runs done no issue again detected.

Any possible fault and its solution

Does anyone have any information on new model of Honda BRV? Is Honda is going to change the Shape of Honda BR-V next year? Though Honda did some changes in current model and called it facelift and added some other new options, but do they have plan to change the shape or any big change in next years?

Salam Gurus, I own BRV-S 2017 model and facing this issue, right before the lock down, I was maintaining an average of 12+ within Karachi, daily usage was around 25KM. Lock down started and the car remained parked for many days. the fuel economy went down gradually from 12 to 10, than 9 and these days I'm getting just 8KM/litter which is frustrating. Total millage is less than 34000KM, vehicle is fully maintained at a 3S dealership in Karachi, all periodic checks were done on time and the car is working absolutely fine apart from this fuel average issue. I've tried many pumps with no luck. Has anyone been through the same issue and have found the cure, please do let me know. TIA

I have the same issue with HONDA CITY. I think Car is ok problem is with the fuel.

Remove negative battery terminal for 15 min Fuel economy will improve after time mix hi-octaine petrol, check air filter replace with oem filter.

Magnesium alloy rims are actually 5 to 10 % lighter in weight than original rims.

Lighter wheels mean a softer steering , better drivability and better milage. The normal steel rims actually add weight and reduce milage etc.

Go for proper alloy rims

Hi octane is not for naturally aspirated engines like BRV and CITY. Adding it will not do any good it is just wastage of money. Ignition system in these cars are programmed to spark according to RON 91 (Normal fuel).

You are right these cars are set at regular petrol but here in pak you hardly get 100% Ron fuel from better to better pump, definitely Hi-octain works its gives you more mileage and power, tried and tested especially CAT fitted vehicles.

Who Told you bro that Hi octane can't be used in NA engines ? It depends on engine compression ratio and minimum ration required for Hi octane is 10:1. And if engine doesn't get designed compression then it will not give you good fuel Economy. Fuel economy is directly proportional engine compression. One thing more mostly fuel pump sell poor quality fuel if they say 93 RON then consider it 90 or 91.

Assalam o Alaikum! My friend owns a BRV and yesterday his car didn't start. He drove it on a flooded road on his way to a friends place where it didn't start back up again. On inspection, at Honda, the staff said the only solution is opening the engine. Opening the engine is big step, we are worried about it. Also to mention, their local mechanic has said, ''aap fiker na kerein, mai isskay plugs change keroonga aur (something else as well which I don't remember), engine kholne ki bilkul zaroorat nahi paregi.'' Honda seems to be the right option here but we're just worried. Want to know what you guys think. TIA!

Yes I think that manual is the best choice. My reason being that i have to travel to Hunza and on return trip climbing to Babusar from Chilas is very difficult with a full load. And as CVT engine decreases the power of the engine upto 18 % so I am left with actually the power of a 1300 cc car instead of 1500 cc car.

So as to bypass this problem and the problem of CVT which has a life of only maximum 150,000 km (if taken care) then you would need manual gear to get the most power out of your car in case of a full load especially while climbing in places like Abbotabad to Nathia gali and from Chilas to Babusar top.

BRV CVT might be able to climb from Chilas to Babusar but I think that its CVT gear life will also be reduced

Try all other options first. Plugs change, flushing engine internals etc. Opening the engine is like a death sentence for a car. It should only be the last and final resort if all else fails.

Hello All,

I am planning on getting this car. Need some inputs from you all so I can decide:

1. Feel- comfort and luxury
2. Drive- local and long route
3. It does not have illumination on the gear-AC panel- driver door windows panel: any workaround for that or would I have to live with it? This is really off putting for me.
4. variants and differences in them

It has a higher annual tax like 25k but then that can't be helped - I was eyeing 2017 model. But not sure yet... all look the same to me really.

BRV is good choice if you want family use & multi purposes .

Drive is good like honda always, Brake, road grip & handling is excellent, local or high way use.
Fuel economy is good but depands on driving style.
Fabric seats are softer comparing leather seats with dual AC benefits.
Some minor issues like door rubbers noise can be sort out.
Customizable with accessories, console arm rest, noise damping sheets 5D mating etc
Gear console illumination is very easy but power window switch needs to change with JDM.

ISD regs annual tax is abt near 7000

I would suggest that you should visit Honda dealership and inspect the vehicle in detail by sitting on all seats. I was also considering BRV but after visiting Honda showroom and sitting on rear seats of BRV I changed my mind. Comfort on rear seats is compromised compared to sedans. It's a utilitarian vehicle, not a luxury vehicle. It definitely has its usefulness, but won't be my first choice if comfort and luxury are primary considerations.
