Alloy rims restoration

The used rims i purchased had alot of stains on them. everyone who saw the car pointed out the rims, so i finally decided to get them fixed. i found a shop which polishes and fixes alloy rims in sultan ka khoo. i thought they would buff it but they said they tool the rims to give it a new look. settled for 1600 rupees for 13" rims.
After picture was taken in dark(does not justify how they look in real). the rims look brand new now otherwise

But why, why is the inside gone Black?
Now, they've lost the 3D look in them and aren't looking good...I'd advise you to go back to them and get that black area 'buffed' Silver.

steps
the tyres are taken off,
the rims are sprayed matt black(full front),
the the rims are mounted on the tooling machine. when they tool the rims, the black color indicates what areas they have tooled and whats left.

trust me they look good in day light. will post a day time picture tomorrow

I got an old pair of Honda rims repaired from there too (if its the one in the street).
Their work is good.

I am also working on a pair for last 6 months. Will upload the pics once they are completed. The Actual Rims costed me RS 5000 and the amount spent on them so far is more than 10K But I am sure in the end they will be worth it.

You had the rims tooled - and that too so coarsely that its showing angles?

I would have been better to strip the paint fill the little scratches and voids with putty and paint the rims.

cool i had same rims.. but by tooling them i think they ma hav got weakend... or they ma cause your car to wobble at high speed.

tested till 110km/hr
no re balancing required so far

@RM, shop is right next to the bridge of "ganda naala" on sultan ka khoo road. dont forget to take a paper clip to close ur nose to avoid the bad smell!

this took 3 hours. then i drove to another place to tool the rotors.another 2 hours.
painting rims means atleast 10 hours work (i am no longer 20 years old sadly )
