yes i have used type x so i can give u a very fair review on this sub.
the sub sounds like anyother "mainstream brand high end sub". they are good in producing lows but dont really ring your bell on the high notes.
plus the one which u getting is the older gen. tht model had allsorts of problem in it like the 1st gen kicker.
another thing to note is tht type x is not like a normal woofer. if u have done an anatomy of a woofer, there is a ring, and on top of tht ring, there is coil one and then the other coil wrapped on coil2. (tht is how All normal woofers are made).
but on type x, there the coil 1 is actually inside the ring and coil 2 is outside. this makes it almost impossible to repair this sub.
secondly how successfull this technology was, i dunno but for the 1st gen type x it didnt work for sure.
now the main point. 1 type x = 20+ and 2 type r = 20+ both are same rates, and the type r are still going to be louder in anyway u take it.
