Altis 1.6 2018 Top Speed Locked

Hi friend,
Corolla Altis 1.6 2018 can go to 180KMPH without any problem, but it can't go upto 180KM per hour.

Is there any ECU speed limiter installed in the car by toyota, why 130HP can't cross 180km per hour.

Over Speeding is not encouraged, just wondering.

I've honestly never taken my 2003 Civic Prosmatec above 170 on the clock on a level road, even when it was in fairly new condition. It has the same 130 horses.

Anyone that claims 210 or 220 is either lying, or they were driving downhill with a tailwind.

It can. I have taken mine till 190. Grande has a limiter at 200.

I think it has a speed limiter at 190 or 200, btw, its 122 HP.

I could be wrong but I think local manufactured Altis has speed limiter ... 180km/h

consider honda cd70 going down hill and crossing 160kmph .. what advice u will u give to its rider ..

I think you left Pakistan very early... post 1980’s the awam has gone too jazbati and the jazba of shaadhat is at peak... you are talking about us driving 1.6-1.8 cars at that speed.... we, the daredevils, drive 800cc cars or should I say tin cans with wheels, to astonishing speed of 150-160km So please don’t challenge our trust on locally built masterpieces.

Slightly off topic here but seriously nothing to brag about. I've crossed 150KMPH once in my life. InshaAllah wont dare do that again. And considering the Motorway, even 120 KMPH is more than enough. One should know exactly one's driving capability and that of one's ride in an emergency situation, respect that and remain in limits.
@OP, limiter or not, don't even wonder. I've been in a fatal car crash when my my ribs got broken and lungs punctured, coughing out blood while at 70 KMPH near Kamra (Attock) once in a 2006 Honda City (resulted into totaled car). Just don't want that happening to anybody else. And yes, I was wearing the seat belt.

i cannot careless for the inconsiderate poster who wants to take a toyota corolla at such speeds when the limit on motorways is 120. but i feel sorry for those (including me, GOD forbid) who are exposed to driving habits of these wannabees and suffer losses. and one more thing, keeping in mind the mental maturity of the poster, he will try to do this on city roads.

I suspect Toyota generally limits its models to the speed rating of the tires that it supplies as stock. S rated radials are limited to 112 moh = 179 kmph approx. The US market LS is limited to 130 mph and the European model goes up to 150-155 mph depending on the market.

Did you know that grande is limited to 198 as shown by its speedo, which shows the speed 10kmh faster, it's actually limited to 188kmh.
2016 onwards, all Altis have the same speedo, and they show 10kmh more than the actual speed.
