please use common sense....

vehicles that advertise long range drain intervals have very large sumps, e.g. BMW engines are specced for 10,000 miles (16,000 kms) drain interval. This is accomplished by 3 things being in harmony.

1 - engine oil quality/type
2 - oil filter construction
3 - oil sump hold (8.5 litres for a 3.0 litre engine)

similarly CAT spec their engines when used in highway trucks to have their 15w40 diesel oil changed at about 40K miles (usually 20 or 25 gallons in the sump).

It doesnt mean that you can do the same to your CD70 and toyota 2C.

For the sake of knowledge: when you say large engine oil sumps - how does that entertain a longer range drain interval? what role does the capacity play here?

lol, very rightly said, I have no idea why people try to use these oils in econoboxes for so long and end up damaging the engine

Engine oil is lube and coolant too, it also has quite a lot of additives to take up various tasks, The entirety of the oil system whilst circulating needs to have a good reserve pool for cooling purposes and also no loss of suction at the pickup.

The sump size being larger along with a good filter is a very old way to extend oil life as it takes longer to deplete the additives in more oil. (just like you can muddy a bucket of water with a cup of dirt, while if you try that in a swimming pool it wont be as muddy as the bucket.

There are also calculations of how soon that certain engine beats down the oil which also pull the numbers sideways. (thats why you have two kinds of drain intervals for city compared to highway)

its quite simple, you can sell anything in Pakistan as long as you put a Made in Japan, Made in Germany or made in USA sticker on it.

look at liqui moly selling their stuff in Pk, dont you find it odd that they are not the standard supplier for their own countrys large automakers. Same thing with Amsoil - Its a boutique oil blender, no manufacturer fills their equipment with it when shipped.

Yet awaam will 100% believe the 25000 miles interval on their ecobox engines because Made in USA dibba said so - what they forget is that the Made in USA dibba will not give you a new engine if yours failed by doing the 25000 miles interval on your mehran.

I have found LM oils to be entirely not in sync with the type of cars that we have here, specially the absence of MOS2 has caused many cranks to wear out earlier than expected because of high intensity detergent in LM cleaning any residue keeping the crank clearances at place. but the people here are like "khamoosh ho gai hae gaari yaar" best tabahi oil hae, uff, dabba dekh kitna seksi hae. uff touring kay liye bana hae,
most people dont even know that this oil was rejected by military and airforce together after testing and usually is of a very old API rating , and if you get the latest rating APISN it is either 0w-20 or 5w-30 which again is not suitable.
The additives of LM are quite good and I have seen them and tried them and they do work better in the category, Radiator flush is Love, Valve seal cond is great, gear leak stop do work and ceratec does make a difference. The brake cleaner is awesome

Mobil Askari is now a standard with Military and a great oil, Also toyota Taglon has mobil base oil (according to some valid resources) and I am using Taglon 5W-50 and 10W-40 in most of my fleet and so far its going excellent

As far as api grade and viscosity recommend by car manufacture it varies from engine to engine.

If you have bad experience of using wrong LM oil for your vehicle it belongs to you only.

Many other happy users of LM exist who choose according to owner's manual.

no its not only me, I have many examples and if your driving cond is meeting what LM is offering, I suggest keep on using it but LM is not end of the world in terms of oil, move to Amsoil or Mobil if you want to hit the peak, BTW I am a fan of LM additives and they do work wonders.

I dont know whats wrong or right, but i know one thing that Amsoil is the best the among the rest. I used many brands. But Amsoil stands tall among them. You can change oil early at 10k or 15 or 12k... but its worth every penny you put on it. Sound reduction smooth acceleration higher penetration and Fuel average improvement all these things have been noticed while shifting to Amsoil Sign5w30.
Yes in Pakistan, Made in Usa Japan and Germany you can sell all of them. But its not funny. We can make All fake dabbas here too. Zic shell Havoline are top fake oils selling in market. Its better to go for Japani Gemrnay and Usa oil rather paying ur patriotism by purchasing Made in Pakistan 2 number dabba on your valued Car of 10 to 40 lakh worth.
2ndly if we do cost benefit anslysis, if u use mineral or Pak made Synthetic oil, it will cost you almost Rs.1 per km overall in 1 interval. While Amsoil will also cost you Rs.1 or less per Km if you Change at 10 to 12k km. So whats wrong with that?
Ok. We have Mobil 1 which also claims 15k interval. I used Mobil 1 and i bet there is no harm if u use it upto 12k km. Tested many times. So brother, i dont challenge ur information and knowledge on Engines and car systems. But Mobil and Amsoil are world class

can you provide me a doc that says Amsoil will give a Pakistani customer a new engine if they ran a bolan/mehran/ravi with this oil for 40,000 kms? when the manufacturer itself limits the oil change mileage to 7,000 kms in severe duty cycle. Or will they also provide a new engine to owner of CD70 who runs this amsoil oil to 40,000 kms?

I drive cars with 10,000 to 13,000 miles change interval and use the required quality and grade of oil - engines with such long change intervals have very large sumps (usually twice that of small japanese 4 cyl sumps) and an extreme duty oil filter too. The change interval is not told to those car brands by the "aasum aail blender" but they themselves (car brand) advertise it

Agree with change interval. 10 to 13k km is enough. My point was making joke of public who are using made in germany japani or Usa. These are best options available against Pakistani made fake dabbas.
