Anyone has Net Metering working on their solar system (Lesco)?

We have a 5KW system with Net metering working since start of Feb 2019 and very little electricity usage at home. So we should have made a lot of extra units that went back to Lesco.

The problem is our both bills Feb and March just show same Starting and Ending meter reading e.g. 12345 12345, effectively we consumed Zero units from lesco. It doesn't say anything about how many units we produced and sent to grid.

Are you guys seeing the same thing? How does lesco count units they take from us. Are they just credited to our account in their system and it'll be automatically applied to our bill when our usage is high?

Your electricity meter is replaced when you go for net metering. Check your meter and take snaps of meter at menu 6, 8 and 9

e.g

Menu 6 shows the peak-time units you imported

Menu 8 shows the offpeak time units you imported

Menu 9 shows the offpeak time units your exported

Match these with your electricity bill and if it doesn't match then lodge a complaint with LESCO to correct your bill.

Are all exported units counted as Off-Peak?

There is nothing on our bill that even indicates that Net-metering is active, let alone how many were consumed/imported and exported. Looks like you're generating quite a lot of units, does your bill go in negative or your account just accumulates credits?

These meter pictures aren't of my place. Yes, the bill goes into negative and accumulates (IESCO). The bill is more or less the same with just the addition of export units and the calculation of them

Do check your meter and if possible share the number of units you've exported!

Aren't Peak hours the afternoon one? That's when solar is producing electricity and exporting it, so they should count as Peak hours too?

I have the same green meter, following are the readings

6 -> 156
8 -> 374
9 -> 818

Peak times in ISB are 5PM onwards or 6PM onwards I think and NEPRA takes the export from us @ off-peak rates so it doesn't really matter in the end.

Take timestamped pictures of each so you have proof and lodge a complaint. You've exported 818 units, your bill should have been negative.

p.s Or wait for another month to see if they send the correct bill or not.

Basically, it took a couple of months for proper net-metering to kick-in and we're getting correct bill now with Export/Import figures.

@StrikerX Just noticed that you exported 1421 units. Max we get is around 700 units/mon (generated as shown in inverter) through our 5.12KW panels. Whats the total output of your panels?

1421 exported is not of 1 month, this was the first correct bill after net metering and is an accumulation of 2 or maybe 3 months (don't really remember) exported units as the previous bills didn't add any exported units in the bill.

Our max generated last year was in August with 824 units.

They're credited in bill every quarter i.e. 3rd, 6th, 9th and 12th month @ off-peak rates.

So they would give me the offpeak rate without tax right? Right now lesco charges 14.38 for an offpeak unit. So if i accumulated 1000 unit at the end of the quarter, they will convert those 1000 units to 14380 rupees right?

And what if i am not interested in getting my units credited? What if i want to accumulate as much units as possible before the summer so that i can use those units for my summer months? Is that not possible? Or will it just automatically convert the units after every quarter no matter what.

Without tax, yes but one small correction, first priority of exported units is to offset your imported units and the excess exported units are kept for for quarterly credit.

e.g I imported 100 units and exported 200 units. The exported units will be used to clear the imported units and 100 will be kept for credit in the end.

I don't think so but you'll have to ask IESCO to confirm.

I've also gotten installed 10 KW solar system. But Solar pannels' capacity is 15000 KW. I check readings No. 4,6 and 6 on daily basis. Where...
4= Number of units Used in house
5= Number of units send to LESCO
6= Number of units used at peak timings

LESCO net metering is quite a complicated process these days. I am having a LESCO Net metering facility at my farmhouse which is working well after my units consumption and I'm getting the money.
