I had my rings replaced of my suzuki fx... and oil problem was resolved.. valve seals were also changed.. Oil reduction problem is reduced much, i get oil reduced by 500ml on 5000km.. What do u say? Culprit was valve seals?

at first you write that the engine performs poor when hot - this automatically means you have it tuned good, Now you are writing that it is misfiring when cold.

You should have your engine correctly tuned first, the carby requires a good thorough inspection and tune up along with ignition system.

@xulfiqar i suppose you missed by question. I wanted to ask that when a piston is at TDC i observed that there was no gap on intake or exhaust valves. Is that normal for K20A DOHC?

no - that is incorrect - your engine must be running bad

Hmm can I adjust them myself I am sure when I do engine will get louder anyway it's better to listen than to smell it. what valve clearence should inset secondly how to handle the cam Mark for Tdc. Could not see any marker other than a arrow on cam

it has marks just like any other honda engine, two divots on the camshaft pulleys, - same technique of rotating 90 degrees to get to next cylinder TDC,

Okies i would work it out i hope dipstick can also be used to verify the TDC after aligning the cam marks.

What values should i set ?

dont use any dipstick, the cam marks will provide perfect cylinder positioning. The values are 0.21-0.25 for intake and 0.25-0.28 for exhaust. Just follow the cam in 90 degree intervals for the next cylinder.

Zulfiqar bhai, today i took off the valve cover and had a look around.

i could not spot any broken springs.

but one of the lobes on which the rocker rides didn't look like it was used. it had some stains on it, while all the others were shiny fresh metal (due to wear). how can i make sure that the gap between rocker and cam isn't too much

i have a feeling that the valve springs might be weak, though not broken

I am facing car (90's mehran) engine getting turned off by itself issue when suddenly braking from 2-3 gear to a stop like red light ahead or traffic jam. Mostly it starts again but sometimes it gets stuck and self does not work. After waiting 5-10 min it starts again. What could be the issue? Is it starter Self issue or carburetor problem or is it bad electrical wiring?

Is the following brake bed in procedure ok?

1) drive to 60kph and brake with moderate pressure to 10kph for 3 to 4 times.
2) drive to 80kph and brake with harder pressure(not enough to trigger ABS) to 10kph for 2 times.
3) let brakes cool to 60 degrees C or below and then park otherwise no complete stops using brakes.

Is it normal to see smoke coming this way? And the burning rubber smell?

Hey friend. Since the first day i bought this car the petrol mileage is a joke. 2 kilometers per liter. Mileage on CNG is pretty good. When i rub my finger inside exhaust tip it's clean. Just dust. But when i drive on petrol and do that my finger turns black. After few days of driving on CNG the inner exhaust tip gets clean again. Just dust then.

Hi i have an 2004 carby cultus and it wont start...when i was coming back tonight it stopped on the way back .suddenly the rpm dropped and the car shut off.....tried starting it but it wont start....then i just opened the bonet and by passed the cng kit and open the petrol. ..still nothing happened for ten mins.then i just randomly started to open and close random wires. ..fiddle in the fuse box...take the fuse out and put them back in......sat in the car it started.....came home till my main gate and then car died again.....tried dhikka didnt start. ...tried fiddling with the wires didnt start then pushed it into the garage. ...i recently changed the fuel pump so i could not sleep thinking what has gone wrong.....just went and check the fuel pump its running the petrol pressure is ok...i just cranked it ...but still wouldn't start....i had some carb cleaner with me so sprayed some that didn't help either.....what could it be.
All the fuse are ok

Carb i dont know the butterfly needed to be changed as rpm fluctuated a bit but not now...

disconnect coil wire from distributor and hold it near battery negative or any metal part of the car chassis or engine. do you see spark or not?

btw also check the solenoid valve for petrol. it is very easy to get it's wire loose
