Aoa I will be really greatful if someone here can help me. I bought 1952 willys put a 3s engine. Once I started it the engine sound was not normal and viberatortion too so ask a macanic to check it he serviced the throttle body and changed the plug s too but now it s even worse it's miss firing like hell. I even had the police come over in the morning when I tried to start the jeep. Plzzzz help

All I did was connect the vacuum lines correctly, vacuum pod mount plates were bent, straightened them, connected the solenoid wire and adjusted the idle speed and fast idle...And cleaned the linkages :d

Mercedes C200 2007-08, am getting these message on my friend car.
ESP inoperative, Run flat indicator inoperative, SRS Right Front and Left Inoperative and Airbag light is appearing and Brake pad wear.
Brake pads are weak n he recently put stitched seat covers. How to fix/off them?

The ESP will shut down due to many reasons one being the run flat monitoring. The other being muddled information from the ABS/BAS etc.

For best diagnosis log connect to a STAR and pull out all information - check for current or old errors - reset and retest.

The brake pads if worn down will illuminate the brake pads worn down message as the contact pins start to touch the discs. Replace at your earliest. These cars dont have the squeal plate on the pads to indicate worn pads - they rely on those little sensors on the pads.

Remove the stitched seat covers. If the seats were pulled out with battery still connected - it will throw the SRS error.

sir yeah seat cover stitching and srs what is connection? does mercedes seats have electrical sensors ap ki others posts says k seat belt latch is for srs bag activator mercedez mai koi different mechanism hai ?

The kabuli carburetor was installed at a 3s dealer, the installer used to do the tune ups of the car and we trusted him with this. I guess it was beyond his skill level.

the guy worked at a dealership??? and still goofed up the vacuum pipes?

Pakistan logic he should have seen the problem when adjusting timing, the distributor was not getting vacuum.

Today I cleaned the coil with 3m apc and then coated the contacts with vaseline

The ht wire from coil to distributor is not showing continuity, the car starts and runs fine though

the HT wires have high resistance - you cant test them on continuity which is usually less than 1 ohm on the DMM

in Karachi - for Mercedes call up Hasan 0300 2119917 guy in his late 50's, very selective dude with serious attitude for merc. He have scanner & plenty of specialised tools, call up for appointment. economically priced with 72 hours source for OEM parts from UAE & 5 working days from Germany.

Actually the meter was set to measure resistance, I tried all the ranges, it would act as if there was no connection between the probes, it worked fine for the rest of the wires

Another problem, the headlight rpm up mechanism does hit the throttle plate, but it isn't able to push it at all. So rpm doesnt go up, every thing looks okay, right now the screw is full tight and still rpm does not go up

That little linkage has little bushings that wear out. Also check if the rod is floppy. Adjust as required. I have had to reshape the rod on some vacuum pods. In some cases the entire vacuum pod mounting bracket needed to be bent.

The stealership is quoting 7k for new plug wires, I dunno where I can buy genuine wires at a good price

I seriously don't want parfamance wire or kabli wire.

Wesay I was wondering if the ignition system could be upgraded for a better spark, that could improve both power and fuel economy, what is your opinion @syncview @xulfiqar

The ignition system is OK, dont mess with it.

For wires - ask the "parfarminss pillug shops" - kids usually would line up to have them swapped out with orange colored HT cables which have a panda or an anime girl printed on their packaging. Get their old ones.

In one instance a long time ago I bought a sack of HT cables, solenoids, switches, relays etc from the scrap yard. It had a lot of long american V8 HT cables which I cut and reused. There are 4 shops in Karachi who sell HT cable by the yard - refurb your own.

Due to the design of the cylinder head the cables NEED to be clamped into their little holders to prevent melting and arching.
