@Xulfiqar @syncview why is my engine getting like it's on chocolate. I change oil with OEM 5w30 Honda oil. Synthetic one

Secondly intake and exhaust valves are both on 0.25 mm something. Checked on cylinder 1 only. Now I plan to set them 0.23 intake and 0.26 mm. Should I go for mid values of range or low or max values ?

that chocolate is the synthetic oil cleaning the varnished surfaces of the engine, keep on running it and change the filter once between the oil change. Check the PCV system too, make sure the breather pipe in the tappet cover is free and clean to breathe - if that is choked, your engine oil will become sludge eventually.

btw - no need to buy Honda brand oil bottle, shell helix ultra will clean the engine really really good, so will Mobil1.

Update @Xulfiqar I could find tdc marks for one and 3 and 4 but this is tricky because can and vtc had marks. Vtc had one punch and one line and same for other. I also kept dip stick for reference. This is confusing. Anyway for 1 and 4 were near to specs. But 2 and 3 had no gap. Their injector is more dirty as well. Now I have adjusted all now I am worried it this sounds too loud because don't know how long it had been running on such condition.

why not just mark the pulleys at 90 degree intervals like a +, this way you know what to align - and use the dipstick inserted in combustion chamber as reference too.

your engine is CB35, which means its an emmissions type engine, it should have an EGR valve, a fresh air injector in the exhaust manifold, a thermal vacuum tree in the head and a yellow vacuum switch on the air cleaner box. Do you see any parts under and next to the distributor mounting? or is this engine changed?

btw your carburettor looks like its been through hell.

Also should i go for 5w30(shell helix ultra API SN) or 10w30(havoline if not available in shell)? The car is JDM ALTO 2012, 68km driven. It is giving 14+ km/l with ac in city drive so i guess engine is in good health. Btw the manufacturer recommends 5w30 in cold and 10w30 in hot environment. So what is best for islamabad?
About brands, should i consider imported toyota genuine oil? (tin pack)

Lastly any suggestions for oil filter?

sounds good for ATF then, for oils get what the manufacturer tells you, for filters, find OE Suzuki item or at least an exact replacement, dont just go by thread pitch and filter width, some engines have different bypass pressure requirements.

Will do thanks! for engine oil, manufacturer recommends to use 5w30 in cold while 10w30 in hot environment. So which one should i opt for? I live in Islamabad and car will be driven in isb-rwp only. I guess 10w30 API SN should do ok as i don't want to keep switching oils?

Aoa xulfiqar bhai we have a civic exi 05 it had a generator issue before that it was not charging car battery we took it to an electrition he told us that its generator is at fault and needs.to be repaired he said.somethig like cutout in it it was small kind of electric part which was an year back . Now the car is again having some different issue after driving 10-15mins car shuts off and when we try to start the self sounds like battery is dead but if we wait five minutes more the car starts fine . We went to battery shop to ask what is the issue he said battery is fine but your generator is not giving full voltage . So today I went to another electrition and said him I will come tomorrow now I need your guidance what could be the issue

look up the weather that you will face, then look up the charts provided in your user manual. Im pretty sure it will be 5W30 for the next 8 months

if you can start the car after a while - then the battery is fine and the alternator is also good as it can actually charge the battery. Your problem is wiring, usually a bad grounding side and cheap battery terminals are the cause.

Bhai I am worried about it a lot , few months ago I got my car checked from a local electrition and he messed up wires and after the first car wash I don't know what happend but ecu became faulty rpm could not go above 600 or above how hard you accelerate at last I went to Honda authourized workshop they identified ecu as the issue and asked.30k for a new issue at last they sold us the ecu for 20k which was said new as it was removed from a new accidented vehicle and they said wiring was messed due t which this happend now I am even afraid of car service and going to local electrition for wiring check but Honda is too costly the guy I met was looking aged and experienced and I also saw a range rover on which he was working let's see what happens tomorrow I will update here

So adjustment were made. Intake 0.23 mm and exhaust 0.28 mm but little more tight than normal. Now it sounds like truck. Tuk tuk. Though power is very much increased. Syncview was kind enough to suggest that I should use wider range and run it like this for 200 km and then use loqui moli valve cleaner. Anything more to suggest ?

Missing problem from one of injectors ? if you have already diagnosed it you could diagnose that issue with either missing current or bad or sticky injector. How did you checked its injector problem

1. First time i rotated the engine anti clock wise where it should be rotated clock wise.
2. I may have not aligned it on proper TDC as in second time i could find some reference on either side for marks to align
3. I was adjusting valves by the way when i had very little resistance. It turned out that i had to adjust it in a way that it has slight more resistance.
4. After rotating engine some minor tweaks were required too.

Now car is good and in power for intake i went 0.20 mm and exhaust was 0.28 mm

the timing chain can go slack when you rotate backwards on a used engine.
