Ive been having a few issues with my swift lately, nothing big, but something to be noted. ( manual )
1.) The gearbox, when put into reverse gets stuck sometimes
Normally there is a mechanical device to keep you from changing directly from...for example 3rd or 4th gear to reverse.
But this has happened to me on occasion, i start up the car, shift into reverse, and the gear stick does not go all the way into the reverse gear properly. Instead it gets stuck before ( there is no physical touching of the gears, so no khurrrr sound similar to shifting without the clutch and not rev-matching either ) But it does not go into the gear. releasing the gear --> neutral ---> going back into reverse gets the same result. What ive found that works is that i have to release the gear lever, let it go back into neutral ( or move it upwards, in between the 5th and reverse gears ) then rev the engine. Nothing special is needed, even the smallest touch of the accelerator pedal is enough, then the gear fits properly the next time i try to put it into reverse.
What could be causing this and why?
2.) There is a unusual khurr khurr / gurr gurr sound on occasion from my front brakes when i stop, i had a alignment done and had the mechanic check the brakes, there was no problem. Its not often, once every 20-25 times i brake i will get this sound 3-4 times. There is no reduction in stopping power or wheel wobble, or even any vibration of the car. It just sounds like the brake rotor is making this noise for no reason.
