Xulfiqar bhai is their any cheap alternative to Toyota Dextron 2 ?

lets say my car's generator is giving 12.5 volts, i then replace it with a new one which gives 14.5 volts. will this improvement help my car in idling, improve the output of the ignition coil?

- have you checked the engine & transmission mounts, the front suspension insulators when weak cause vibration - If you are located in Karachi take the vehicle Lines area afzal 0300 2116069, for inspection and assessment.

yes it will improve the coil output

first try with a new screw - if that does not help then you are SOL and need a redone throttle assembly, No machinist in Pakistan has the tools to make the seat again.

how can we test a power valve? this is in reference to the carb in a margalla.. the valve itself is located inside float bowl and is actuated by the piston on top

it seems like the valve itself cannot be removed

how can we test the power piston, the vacuum hole is so tiny any tips and suggestions would be much appreciated

I have an issue .... the pick & more importantly, the mileage im getting from my City Prosmatec 2010 is...very sad.[/I]

after oil change (Caltex Havolin 10w30) & AC service (for diff reason thou) I'm not getting any better mileage. its around 9.4 km/l as per ODO.

previously, I've changed the plugs but they werent new. do u recommend that after getting totally new Honda spark plugs, it will return to normal which is around 12~14 km/l for City ?

or anything else still needs to be done? i read sumwhere on forum abt iridium plugs ? does Honda have those or have to buy them from sumwhere else ? will they be helpful ?

the powervalve is serviceable, it actually has its own jet under this spring contraption. The passage for it goes to the primary throat. the vacuum controls the piston - you can pull a vacuum on the line to test the piston. Clean out the powervalve too.

i pushed the piston down and then blocked the vacuum port, then i let go, it did not stay or even slow down, like it is not sealing properly

we tested this on two carburetors, one which is being used for reference and the other that is being serviced, it acted the same in both the cases

Toyota 2010 engine 2.7L 2TR-FE, 88000 km, auto transmission - engine vibrate heavy intermittently at red light with brake pedal pressed, rpm drops under 1000 rpm before dying. no issue on fuel consumption or pick up, request please suggest remedy.

checked all vaccum lines no leakage - case is specific to stall when brake pedal pressed. Brake boaster ? Vaccum PCV to Boaster ?

you need a handheld tester to test it - it also needs a constant pull of strong vacuum to lift it. Try to test the carby hat with a running engine vacuum line.

If the powevalve is dumping fuel even at idle then its probably gunked with varnish too. Is the power piston working smoothly up and down?

WD40 is useless for this.

You need some real cutting power - nothing else than a good branded carby cleaner.

i was very surprised when i saw the amount of gunk that came out when i passed wd40 through the jets and venturis. especially the primary.

what i did was first dunk it into soap water, then i used half a can of wd40, i even filled half the float bowl and let it sit for a day

WD 40 in a carburettor is like you trying to scrape away wall paint with a spatula that comes with facial bleach.

You need muscle to move that. btw - Berryman's carby dip was sold in Karachi and I bought it too - I used it for ages - you basically never drain it - just dip the item and remove it later. There were some others too, some of the oldschool formulas needed to be covered by a layer of water to prevent evaporation and fire accidents.

100% of general car/light duty mechanics never bought it, it was usually an item bought by outfits that served larger industry and required a residue free solvent to clean delicate parts.

usual mechanics just used a litre of petrol and a toothbrush (lol - as if the petrol will cut the varnish and crud - the damn thing was dipped in it 24/7 and still could not cut it.
