Aoa.. I m facing an issue since 3 days... Sometimes my car starts jerking and difficult to pick speed and rpm.. Looking like missing.. It happens sometimes and when i turned off ac it turns out to be ok.. After 1 or 2 km when start ac, the car feels nothing like missing or jerking... I have 98 civic auto.. Car feels underpowered sometimes on ac...

Xulfiqar, i recently had the car battery changed on my E250-W212, by Shahnawaz. They gave the old battery back, which is the Varta 12V 60AH model. I am assuming it is the standard Mercedes Factory install. It was pretty expensive to replace (PKR 40,000), compared with the generic Exide, AGS etc. Can you please explain if it is a dry cell battery or a sealed wet cell battery?
Also, isn't 60AH too low rating for the cranking?

Sitting here going though the thread from the the first page at 1 30 am, I was at the 10th page when I noticed that xulifiqar bhai said that you should lubricate your iac motor after cleaning. Last Sunday I suddenly had the jazba for cleaning the throttle body and I disassembled everything and got the cleaning done. The car wasn't doing anything wrong, I just did it for fun but after cleaning the iac motor with carb cleaner I put everything back in place without any lubrication... I feel dumb now.. Now I don't have the himat to disassemble everything again so can I spray some wd40 using the long nozzle into the iac valve hole in the throttle body? This will lead to the iac motor being lubricated hopefully. Can I do this?

And another thing, while putting back the iac system to the throttle body I put the gasket along with silicone and screwed it back and the throttle body was screwed back to the intake manifold using the old gasket stuck to the intake manifold, I applied some silicone over there too and tightened the nuts and everything. Pit silicone the the intake pipe too[emoji14]did I do everything right ir does it need some other method of sealing?

I plan on changing transmission oil by removing the pan and everything this weekend. Have exams in an month but this work is just too fun

Thanks alot Zulfiquar bhai I will try to use heat sink paste. One more thing can we use engine flush fluids available in market in old engines (1993) and de carbonisation with water is it safe.

Thanks man. I had water body leak last year that caused me frequent over heats on m2, this time radiator leak has also caused low coolant twice on road.

Both the time, as i see needle shooting up, i keep engine running.

If i have extra water i cool rad from outside b4 opening, else i just open it and let it make the mess (which is mainly steam only).

Then fill it with water.

But reading radiator threads made me fear that this cold stream of water may damage gasket or cause head warpage etc.

My car radiator tank is leaking. Its a plastic tank and leaking along the clamps. Mechanic sealed with epoxy its still leaking.

I think this issue is caused by mishandling of mechanic. He says he removed the radiator during head repair job. I have seen mechanics putting their feat on radiator while working on engine.

Radiator wala says new tank is needed. But i have read here it may not seal properly.

What u guys recommend?

If the radiator mech gives you some sort of warranty then go with repair otherwise head work is more costly than radiator​ hope you understood.!

Thanks for the reply. Actually head job happened 2 weeks ago. Probably at that time radiator was damaged.

Now my question is how to proceed with this repair. How is this properly repaired.

Well never been into aluminum/plastic radiators. But i have heard that they are non-repairable.

It is an old car. Must be copper radiator, with plastic top tank.

I also read comment that made me cautious of opening the tank.

Personally my experience with radiator repairs is not good. Repairs won't last long.
So if your pocket allows then it would be better to get a brand new radiator or atleast a v.good condition used radiator.

About tightening the tensioner pulley bolt - Since i dnt have the torque wrench. Will Hand tightening the bolt and then giving it a quarter turn with rachet work?

But its not whole radiator repair. Mechanic says radiator tank will be replace. Cost some 1.5k.

Though i ponder, why to replace tank, what will that change to stop the leak.

Also i read @xulfiqar comment somewhere and he said sealing back radiator job is not easy task and may cause leaks.

I would suggest you test the fuel pressure, if you are experiencing low pressure at the rail the system can be experiencing vapour lock.

the tank on yours is fractured from the seam, it happens with age. Best find a replacement one or atleast a replacement tank. Ask the repairer if the repair will hold pressure, if he says no - buy a new radiator.

the 60AH is not the cranking rating, the cranking amps should be close to 600 on that battery. A genuine mercedes benz battery is white in colour and has the mercedes benz logo on it along with the part number sticker and specification sticker on it.

your W212 should be using an AGM battery, not a flooded wet cell (speculating here as all 212s I have done in USA had AGM batteries installed by the factory)

WD40 is not a lubricant. It wont work.

and dont use globs and globs of silicone sealant on the intake. It will become a nightmare.
