@xulfiqar
I have 1990 corolla 2.0D (CE95), 4WD setup. I have been thinking for quite some time to replace rear Drums with Discs. I hope there are rear discs of some other corolla that fit bolt to bolt on this one.
I think mechanically just hub is needed to be changed, without the need to touch shocks etc.
I read some old posts and got discouraged due to the absence of ABS, only one of your old post referencing some merc was bit encouraging.
What do u say now, should i go on with this project??
MY issue is that my car braking is weak. I think its low traction so i want to make use of rear wheels as well. Though from one of your old post i think i need to Flush brake fluid first to see if anything is improved.
My theory is this:
a) Low traction, as when ever car skids on rainy or dry road, it donot give me a strong jahtka, a hard braking Gs on the body like it do on newer cars.
b) Brake fluid or some other issue with brakes: Respone curve of braking is also a bit week. Newer cars give instant jerk dependent on how much brake force is applied, this car has a more damped effect. But if i intentionally do a very hard brake, i dont get a strong decceleration on my body before the tyres skid.
IMO if their is bad braking due to Discs/pads/brake fluid/air in system, repair will only increase brake response time, but the Maximum Deceleration on my body will still remain low, as car skids due to low traction.
My shocks are OK, replaced front shocks with KYB bottles, though number was not for same exact model.
Replaced rear shocks with KYB Gas ajust, number was same exact for the model (for 4wd).
