Dewan diagnosed it as a intermittent fault in the voltage regulator on the alternator as well as a 5 year old battery according to the service history
The voltage regulator was giving a stored fault when scanned by BMW dedicated scanner although the car did not produce any electrical issue while they had it and alternator was producing 14.4-14.6V with engine running.

For now changed the battery for a cool 50k rupees and it has been fine till now if still face any electrical issue then they say to change the voltage regulator independently of the alternator

Also they diagnosed the bearing noise from the front as a faulty belt tensioner pulley instead of AC compressor after listening with a stethoscope

But just to confirm if the noise is not effected by turning off or on the AC it can't be the AC clutch right ? As I thought it was AC clutch but when they removed the shields and checked with stethoscope they were confident it was the tensioner especially as turning the AC on or off had no effect or noise though at the same time noise does not get much louder when revved.

the A/C clutch pulley rotates with the engine main crank pulley. If its bearing is noisy it will be noisy all the time. The best way to check noises is a stethescope which they used.

If you hear noise when the A/C is started - you have an internal compressor fault. (its normal for it to make pumping sounds for a few seconds when started the first time) - but it should become quiet after a short while.

@xulfiqar one more question, it has locking wheel bolts one on each wheel with the following design locks2 by Arzaam Bhatti, on Flickrhow tight should they be? dewan insists on just finger tight as applying any torque would strip the threads of the key but wont they come undone, should same amount of torque as wheel (140nm) be applied or little less then that or just finger tight?

they are torqued the same as the other lug bolts - the key is tool grade steel and is quite hard.

salaam xulfiqar bro i need to ask smthing i hv ee90 and installed 7afe 5 months before, engine is running very good im confused about 1 thing my car's tail pipe gets dark brown type coating even i clean it with cloth but after running 70 to 80 km again it gets coated im sure its not black nor red its brownish my spark plugs r tan which shows combustion is all good even i checked my pcv valve its also ok and one last thing i used 10w30 havoline formula in it then summer came i poured 10w40 havoline but its mineral based oil what do u suggest is it ok to use 10w40 havoline or i should go for liqui moly 10w40 its synthetic. As i dnt know how much my engine is used before as its qaabli, i hv heard synthetic oil can effect valve seals. really need ur advice on this thank u in advance

@xulfiqar my car is having issue with EPS after rain. DTC is 3 which is low fet stuck ON. some times some day it often works but during driving i listen a click and its gone. With that i sometime have ABS Codes which go clear and comes back intermittently. Cant find connection between ABS and EPS. ABS Codes are 51,61, 54.

How good is Mercedes E220 CDI for long runs??
I have an eye on a 2006 W211 and the owner claims that it gives 21kmpl (which is quite good imo)

Is the following oil good for baleno??i found it in market and it's cheap also.never heard about havoline mtf though

5W-40 fully synthetic of any good brand like shell provided no oil consumption or leakage

I am using a good 10w 40 in my civic 2005, prosmatic. I wanted to shift to 5w 30 or possibly 5w 20 according to the manual. Is it advisable xulfiqar bhai? Car engine is good, 137k driven, carefully maintained, not reducing oil a bit

I checked the service manual, 5w 20 isn't recommended!! 5w 30 is the minimum grade allowed
