i did compression test on a suzuki mehran, cyl 1# 170 cyl 2# 175 cyl 3# 170. Engine oil was changed at 5k kms through out and it is driven 80k kms. This time when oil was drained it was measured how much came out, it was 2.5L in it although some of it went on floor while opening oil filter. Are these compression figures good?

There is issue with my czn vitz 1000cc 4 cylinder engine , decrease engine oil , there is no smoke coming from exaust and now blow like thing from enigne , mechanic says to change engine head and assembly with qabli one , what you recomend ?

I have heard some thing about PCV valve , is this is PCV valve ? Should we change ?

I have a civic 2005 manual vti d16w9. the car is 147000 kms driven only on petrol. on the last oil change, i had poured in zic a+ 5w20 fully synthetic. its been 6 months and the car has covered 4500 kms. today i noticed smoke emission from the exhaust and oil burning smell was also noticed. furthermore, the car has reduced oil too about 1 litre in 4000 kms. please advise, is it time to go for an overhaul or shifting to a thicker oil 0w30 or 5w30 (both fully synthetic) would help?

Too early for an engine overhaul sir, switch to 'slightly' thicker oil.

May I know which oil you were using before ?

ZIC A+ 5w-20 is most popular & most famous among all other zic oils. I am using it in my 91 model Crown who recently clocked 356K with 2JZ Engine.

I guess there can be two reasons.

No. 1
The ZIC oil quality was not good. You may try to change the oil source if you want to continue with this oil.
And if you are confident that ZIC engine oil was purchased from good place and of good quality, then consider the No. 2 reason.

No. 2
Honda actually recommends 5w-30 oil SL grade for 2005 civic. I guess you were feeding it mineral oil before? (just my guess).
So you may shift to same grade as recommended or slightly up like 10w-40.

About smoke, it comes when engine oil start burning in combustion chamber. And again there can be two major reasons. No.1 the engine oil quality is sub-standard. No.2 the rings are weaker.

My next door neighbor has CITI 2006/7 model. Since day 1 he is feeding ZIC A+ and he is purely “La Parva Insaan” for Engine oil. Because he normally change it after 7~8K without any filter change in mid-way. And guess what, his car never reduces any oil nor any smoke and engine is still healthy like bull after ~170K.

before this I had been using Caltex havoline formula 10w30 and shell hx7 5w30.

1. the quality of the oil cannot be the issue since it was bought from metro.
2. my civic's owner's manual even recommends 0w20 oil so i thought that 5w20 might be the same.

will the smoke diminish if i shift to a 30 weight oil???

Im assuming your valve seals are going bad - and that is your oil burning issue, the other factor that adds to oil burn is the crankcase vent system, (PCV valve and breather) - make sure they are working and clean.

choose an oil that is recommended by your manufacturer and make sure the engine gets nice and toasty.

I'm confused, i have few questions :

1_ which is the best coolant for toyota and of which colour..?
2_should i mix distilled water..?
3_ if there is already water in radiator then should i flush out the radiator or should i add coolant without draining out the water, if there is no need of flushing then how much quantity of coolant i should add because there is already water in the radiator..?
4_ if i add 1 letr of coolant then how much water should i add..? 1 letr water..?
5_ what is the disadvantages of not using coolant..?
6_ if i mix non-distilled water with coolant then will it be OK or it will harm the car..?
7_ what is the best oil for toyota cars..?

use OEM or choose brand of VIC / LEPPON / MICRO. for vehicle oil & air filter.

The best non OEM brands of coolant in market are Caltex & FUCHS. -- stay away from brand name ABRO - it is blended from bulk packing locally & brand label is pasted over pet /plastic bottles in Kot Lakhpat Industrial area., Lahore

I now use VIC let see after next oil change. The stuff is like piece of cardboard.

Check evaporator condensate drain line for clogging. It may be clogged.
