any ATF meeting ZF lifeguard 6 specification or Ford Mercon SP specification will work, Dexron VI wont work unless you dose it with modifier to convert it to Mercon SP. - No Toyota/Honda oil works in it - the transmission will shift bumpy and eventually shut down shifting due to shift shock error.

The filter needs to be replaced (whole sump) - aftermarket ones now have removeable filter, but not sold in Pakistan. It also requires the mechanic to know what the hell they are doing when exchanging all the fluid and setting the oil level, otherwise it becomes a royal painful mess. Even simply filling it becomes messy.

Salam pkwheelers, I have City 2001 auto. I am having a transmission oil leak in between engine and tranny maybe torque seal leakage. Kindly suggest any good Mechanic for auto in karachi. Also, Honda DW-1 is expensive can i use KIXX ATF Multi or ZIC.

which one is the better option either to have a kabli gear OR to change its kit only. car is alto vxr and gear is producing sound, more sound with the higher speed. any idea about the cost of kabli gear? also any recommended shop at bilal gunj?

what do experts suggest.

It's Pakistani alto vxr model 2006

the ratios are different in that model, get it overhauled. you can buy brand new parts for it from a suzuki parts dealer.

it wont be cheap though. Sometimes its just the countershaft bearings which are easy to replace and sold easily too.

scrapped gearbox is hit or miss - you may get lucky or may have to change 4 or 5 of them.

If money is very tight, do it yourself at home.

If you are going to get a shop to do it - make sure they know how to remove an autobox - some idiots leave the converter on the engine and yank the gearbox out fracturing the oil pump in the transmission.

Any mechanic can replace that seal - its quite a simple process.

Zulfi bhai I need your suggestion please regarding my 2007 Santro's wheel hub's cracked portion at ball joint area. Does it need replacement or can it be braze welded?

My santro's wheel hub is broken from ball joint area. I asked above person for replacement hub only, he is quoting 4500Rs.price with fitting and he will take away my Santro's broken hub

From this forum i contacted Jamil Autos he qouted me 6k labor, other mechanic are also qouting 5k to 6k as labor only and Vicky(Car Clinic) near nagan chowrangi qoute me 10k to 15k just for labor and seal+filter, can this be justified for job which probably will take 5 to 6 hrs in my view, and this much amount just for torque seal installation which will not be more than Rs 500 and earning that much in a day.Plus ATF fluid is expensive on the other hand.

Also, all these Mechanic give the same reasons that it will consume our whole day.

I am also a salaried person who is taking a fixed monthly income. Thx

taking off the gearbox and fitting it in is a time consuming task, 6k is reasonable rates given that its karachi, towards the north, it would probably drop to max 3k, but not more.
If its labour you are worried about, try to find more inexperienced people and the labor amount will decrease.
I just got the torque converter seal of my pajero replaced yesterday.
I took a market survey, got quotations from 6k to 30k Rs., I had decided to go with the 15k one but that fellow kept on delaying and giving excuses, in the end settled for the 12k fellow, it took 2 hours to dismantle, 4 hours to get all the parts and 2 hours to put back together.
so opening and closing is 4 hours, but finding the parts, and making sure that there isn't any leakage and doing it right, takes time, 6k labor for karachi in a time where milk is 140/litre, seems reasonable

Yesterday went for an oil change.
As always filled with 11litres of Delo Gold 15w40 with Genuine Toyota Oil Filter. Started the engine for 2 minutes, turned it off. Waited another 5 minutes to check the oil level on dipstick and it was right on the full dot.

Went home. Slept well. Woke up in the next morning and checked the oil level and it was about 2cm above the full line.

Now what i can't figure out is when the oil level is checked after 10 - 15 mins after turning the engine off, the level looks perfect.
But when the car sits for hours let's say 5 - 6 hours the oil level shows about 2 cm above the full dot.

Is there something to worry about?

Ok, I know you can afford this. What else can i say. Unjustified charges looks reasonable here in pakistan.
