moving the pulley a smidge to let the belt sit nicely in the pulley grooves is acceptable as the belt slack is taken up.

But if you have an EFI engine like baleno etc. and move timing by a tooth on the crank pulley - you will get timing errors.

thats also impossible.

BUT

there are some suzuki engines with cam pulleys having 3 marks. and you have to mark it before removing - otherwise you need to make sure the cam is in mid of base circle on cyl1 to find correct tdc.

There are no timing marks on my cuore flywheel. I need to check whether ignition timing is correct or not. How can I do this?

on the old toyota 2E, there is nothing to error out by that, you will have a very hot running engine though.

On EFI with actual cam and crank sensors - LOL. forget about it.

Sir it means that the timing marks are not always the reference? What make those marks change their original places. I don't get this point, also I don't know why and how timing gun is used to align timing.

they are reference points. Ideally you should find TDC by yourself too - to eliminate errors of wrong pulley being used.

yes there is, its basically nothing more than an NTC - find its type and use a DMM to see the change in resistance. - This information is provided in the service manual.

pay heed to the requirements of the test, which are the sensor should be "suspended" in the water bath and not lying at the bottom of the vessel. The thermometer should also be suspended and not touching the bottom of the vessel.

Sir please guide regarding the pre filling of oil filter at oil change. some internet videos are suggesting to prefill the filter to avoid engine running dry but we never do it so are we doing it wrong?

the filter should be filled with some oil to wet the media in it - its to prevent hydraulic blowout of the media.

Remember.

Do not do this on a brand new assembled engine or an engine that has a unique service requirement after work on any oil gallery as it may cause an airlock.

I've seen people saying, in pak use 10w40 it's best for pakistan climate bla bla, instead of manufacturer recommended 0w20
@Xulfiqar is there any harm in using 0w20?

the manufacturer spent quite a bit of money on very smart people and very expensive tooling and research to come up with a conclusion on what to use.

Random shop may tell you do use heated up dalda ghee in your engine - doesnt make them better than manufacturer.

TLDR

follow the manufacturer.

I said I'm using 0w20
He: "sir 50 hazar kms k baad to lazmi 5w30 daalna pray ga"
And I was be like (ignoring him on phone) G G bilkul durust farmaya aapne..
2nd case, dealerships, went there, asked for 0w20, guy there "sir 0w20 ki to zarurat hi nai h 5w30 hi theek h"(they have only semi synthetic 5w30)
Then I said allah hafiz and went away
Also pak suzuki is recommending 10w40 for new alto

every one wants to sell their own manjann - its best to get manjann from an actual hakeem.

in this case manjann is engine oil and hakeem is equipment manufacturer.
